Worlds Within Worlds are proud to announce the release of Abdel Benaddi’s debut album, A Dream In Essaouira. On, A Dream In Essaouira, Abdel presents a pure and authentic recording of Gnawa - which stands out against the more prevalent fusion-orientated acts in Europe. Growing up in the spiritual heartland of Gnawa music, Abdel Benaddi has been immersed in the rituals and ceremonies from a young age.

Shawn Hennessey’s project, Leana Song, is a fusion of Afro-Cuban Orisha songs with electronic, folk and jazz. This second volume, “Orisha Love Song Vol.2 - ‘Oru Cantado Électrique’ presents new arrangements of 19 traditional Orisha songs, with Batá drums at the center. The arrangements are electro-folkloric, and draw influences from samba, house, trap, and experimental.

To celebrate 10 years of one of London’s most loved underground club nights, Tangent, Mr Bongo are thrilled to launch this new compilation series. Crafted by its two residents, John Gómez and Nick the Record, it aims to transmit a taste of Tangent’s spirit. A party rooted in inclusivity and open-mindedness, whose name captures the spontaneous switches in musical direction that are a defining element of their nights. For the compilation, the pair have cherry-picked a selection of their prized, rare and dancefloor-ready tracks from around the globe, that have soundtracked the past decade of parties.

Medúlla is the sixth studio album by Icelandic singer, songwriter, and musician Björk. The title derives from the Latin word for "marrow". The album is almost entirely a cappella and constructed with human vocals. Medúlla received two Grammy Award nominations and reached number one in several record charts.

Ablaye Badji is a multi-instrumentalist, a member of the griot family – Cissoko. Ablaye was born and grew up in Ziguinchor, Senegal. Surrounded by the cultural and musical richness of his ancestors, he began his musical education by gaining an in-depth knowledge of traditional instruments such as djembe, sabar and seourouba. His love for the kora, however, was visible to him at an early age.

On April 23, 2021, New Amsterdam will release "Vulture Prince," the third album from Brooklyn-based Pakistani composer Arooj Aftab. Championed by NPR, who praised her composition as one of the “Greatest Songs By 21st Century Women+,” and the The New York Times, who celebrated her work as one of the “Best Classical Music Tracks of 2018,” Aftab’s liminal sound floats between classical minimalism and new age, Sufi devotional poetry and electronic trance, jazz structures and states of pure being.

"Zouzou" is Dobet Gnahoré’s seventh studio album and a vibrant celebration of African culture and identity. Gnahoré is a virtuosic singer, dancer, percussionist, and songwriter who has taken the modern Afropop sounds of her country in exciting new directions. Known for her jaw-dropping dance moves, powerful stage presence and richly emotional vocal style, Gnahoré has earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including a GRAMMY Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2010 for her collaboration with singer India.Arie.

On their third album ″Outspoken″ the four musicians demonstrate their mature mastery of their craft.

Kankou Kouyate is the niece of the N’Goni genius Bassekou Kouyate and was born into one of the most respected Griot families in Mali; growing up surrounded with music, descendent from generations of the finest N’goni players in the country, she became the music student of her uncle Cheick Oumar Diabaté at the age of ten.

Produced by Grammy-winner, Ian Brennan (Tinariwen, Ustad Saami, The Good Ones [Rwanda], Parchman Prison Prayer), the Bhutan Balladeers perform classical music from Bhutan called Zhungdra, that dates back to the dawn of the 17th century.

Zenzile Miriam Makeba, nicknamed Mama Africa, was a South African singer, songwriter, actress, and civil rights activist. Associated with musical genres including Afropop, jazz, and world music, she was an advocate against apartheid and white-minority government in South Africa.

The indefatigable Jordi Savall continues to unite musicians from East and West as he traverses five centuries of musical traditions in Granada, a city he describes as ‘one of the most important and admired cities in Muslim Andalusia’. The majority of performances on this new album were recorded live in 2013 at a concert in the Alhambra Palace to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Granada’s foundation. Arranged in chronological order from the foundation of Granada in the Zirid period to the Castilian rule when Muslims were forced to convert to Catholicism, the programme begins with rejoicing – the invocation qamti be-Ishon Layla (Song of Songs) - and ends with an Andalusian lament Maqam hijaz (Ibn Zaydun) sung by Lior Elmaleh.
