Alexander Lövmark (born 1985) is a Swedish vocalist and composer primarily oriented into jazz music.

Gjersvik was born in Bergen, Norway, where he studied at the Grieg Academy and Bergen Conservatory of Music, where he has also taught.

"Aska" is sixth studio album by Amanda Daniela Scholtbach Werne, Swedish artist, most known as Slowgold. Along with acts such as Sara Parkman and Dolce, Aska is one of more or less folk-inspired rock/pop albums, which is very much based on a strong, special vocal voice.

During his lifetime, Hugo Alfvén became known as one of Sweden’s principal composers of his time, with works that struck a chord with a wide audience. As a result of his popularity, a nationwide collection was held in celebration of his 70th birthday in 1942, with the proceeds used to build Alfvéngården, the composer’s home during his final years. Now, 80 years later, Elin Rombo and Peter Friis Johansson are releasing their tribute to Alfvén’s 150th anniversary, recorded at Alfvéngården using the composer’s own piano.

Excellent Swedish jazz. It's definitely highly influenced by free jazz and the avant-garde but it's still quite accessible.

From 1950 and onwards, Allan Pettersson was mainly occupied with working on the monolithic symphonies for which he is best known. But before that, while still a student at the Conservatory in Stockholm and later a viola player in the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, he composed two sets of songs: Six Songs and Barfotasånger (Barefoot Songs). Of these two, the second would become especially important for the composer, who returned to it throughout his life, quoting various songs from it in his symphonies.

Sweden’s Opeth are preparing to release their most important record to date with “In Cauda Venenum”. Certainly, fans and critics will have their opinion, but few records in the Swedes’ oeuvre are as engaging, delicate, panoramic, intense, and musical as Opeth’s lucky thirteenth. Sporting a clever Travis Smith cover—replete with inside jokes and a nod to King Diamond—a masterful Park Studios (The Hellacopters, Graveyard) production, Opeth’s usual five-star musicianship, and lyrics entirely in Swedish, “In Cauda Venenum” raises the bar markedly.

The compositions of Mikko Heiniö and Yrjö Kilpinen are presented by bass singer Sami Luttinen and pianist Tuula Hällsröm on this new release. This is the world première recording of Heiniös Syyskesän laulu (Song of Late Summer) and the world première recording as a cycle of Kilpinens Reflexer (Reflections). The lyrics by Lassi Nummi on Syyskesän laulu are in Finnish, and the ones by Pär Lagerkvist on Reflexer are in Swedish. The Finnish bass Sami Luttinen studied singing at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
