Tye Tribbett is an award-winning singer, songwriter, choir director, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. While his music is claimed by contemporary Black Gospel, it cannot be contained by a single genre; it reflects pop, soul, rock, country, CCM, and film music. At once theatrical and intimate, Tribbett's songs most often juxtapose spiritual and personal struggles with energy, gratitude, and transcendence. Heralded in press and industry circles as the "Elvis of Gospel," he is among the most relevant and active voices of this generation. Tribbett & General Anointing gained national attention for their performance backing Mary Mary on "Let Go, Let God" from the Prince of Egypt soundtrack.

Stevie Wonder's career in the 1980s was a source of frustration to the fans he had earned in the '60s and '70s. In 1982, there were a few new songs on a greatest-hits album and a duet with Paul McCartney. Then came this soundtrack to a Gene Wilder comedy that was simultaneously more of a pop vocal album than most soundtracks and yet less than a full-fledged Wonder record…

To mark 60 years, Motown Unreleased 1969 boasts 60 tracks, all recorded in 1969 and left unheard – until now. The label’s heaviest hitters are all here, including Diana Ross and The Supremes with their rendition of the Ron Miller/Orlando Murden standard “For Once in My Life,” Gladys Knight and The Pips (“You Took Me This Far (Take Me All the Way)),” Jackson 5 (“What’s So Good About Goodbye”), and Marvin Gaye (“I’ll Take Care of Business”). Three tracks each can be heard from The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, and Jr. Walker and The All-Stars, and four each from Edwin Starr and Bobby Taylor.
