This is a joint album by Akiko Yano and Hiromi Uehara, who are both based in New York and continue to perform internationally with their pianos, although in different genres. The album was recorded live at Bunkamura Orchard Hall on September 15, 2016, as part of Yano's 40th anniversary project. It has been five years since the two performed together on "Get Together -LIVE IN TOKYO-" released in November 2011. Like the previous album, this was a "one-night-only" situation, a heated piano session in which the two musicians shared their inspirations in front of an audience of 2,000 people. The album includes 8 songs performed on the day of the show. In addition to popular Akiko Yano songs such as "Tokyo wa Yoru no 7 o'clock," "I'll Fly Away," and "Ramen Tabetai," the album also includes "Dreamer," for which Yano wrote new lyrics to Hiromi Uehara's original, "Koi no Uta," a new song written by Hiromi Uehara, as well as jazz standards, children's songs, R&B and popular songs from the Showa period. The program consists of a medley of cover tunes that traverse the genres and eras.

After the albums Espaces et Hors temps already published on Label Bleu, I composed the opus De l'ombre à l'aube which is inspired by the concept of light. This is the third and last part of this triptych.

I Puritani is the last great masterpiece of the exceptional Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini. The intelligently conceived and thoroughly thrilling historical drama, written by the Italian librettist Conte Carlo Pepoli (1796-1881), concerning the fiery romantic intrigue between Elvira, the daughter of a Puritan and the royalist Arturo - Bellini's rapturous music, full of melancholic intensity, is a delight to listen to, as performed by Lisette Oropesa and Lawrence Brownlee.

Having sustained an injury to his left hand, Artur Malawski had to abandon his career as a virtuoso violinist and went on to become a successful teacher and composer in his native Poland.

Dmitry Baevsky (alto saxophone) wanted to invite one of the artists he considers the most, for his approach to jazz and for his musicality: the guitarist Peter Bernstein. The two musicians had already crossed paths several times, on stage, in the studio or during the nightlife of New York clubs.

Cristian Carrara, born and educated in the Friuli region of north-east Italy, has earned critical admiration as one of the most creative composers of his generation. Clarity and directness inform much of his music, as does a sense of mystery, examples of which can be heard on this album. These recent works were composed during 2016–21 and focus on dialogues between a solo instrument and the orchestra. All are strongly narrative in character but as The Devil’s Bridge shows, they are also informed by rhythmic vivacity and a rich variety of instrumental colour.

Brahms’ lifelong preoccupation with the solo voice can be heard to great effect in this sixth volume of his complete songs. The ghostly and dreamlike opening of the Four Duets, Op. 28 and moods of desolation and loss in the Nine Songs, Op. 69 are linked by the unusually disparate subjects in each set, while the playful spirit of southern Italy and Spain forms part of Op. 58. The programme ends with great musical beauty, depth, and even touches of crude humour in Five Songs, Op. 72.

Travel Notebook, Suite for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 by Ukrainian composer Alexey Shor is cast in a neo-Classical vein. It offers personal impressions of places he has visited, with music that is harmonically traditional and melodic. Violin Concerto No. 4, composed during the Covid pandemic, is a restless, passionate and romantic work, displaying Shor’s trademark lyricism. Both works are heard in the composer’s versions with string orchestra.

“Eye of the Storm” is the second album from the studio project masterminded by the multi-talented Bulgarian guitarist and producer Nikolo Kotzev, together with three members from the original EUROPE line-up and a set of singers second to none. Released originally in 1996 on the german label USG Records, “Eye of the Storm” sees the addition of the awesome singer Joe Lynn Turner to the line-up. His influence is particularly evident on songs like "Twist of Fate", "Line of Fire", and "Road to Hell", while the Europe influence can be found in “Wake Up Everybody”, with a great vocal performance from Thomas Vikström. Former Malmsteen singer Göran Edman also appears on lead vocals stamping his mark especially on the power-ballad “Everything's Gonna Be Allright”.

Almufaraka brings together the breath and voices of Gaëlle Debra, Patrick Guionnet, and Maryline Pruvost, alongside the sound textures of skins, wood, and metal played by Peter Orins. This quartet explores all technical means to create a music that is both archaic and avant-garde, drawing inspiration from a mythical primitive tradition. By recreating a form of serenity, the music immerses us in an original sonic imagination. The recording offers a journey through the full sound spectrum, from the intimacy of whispers to the power of cries, revealing a deep connection between the musicians and the listener. The emotion becomes palpable, awakening the senses.

Franz Xaver Wolfgang Mozart was the youngest of six children born to Wolfgang Amadeus and his wife Constanze. Franz Xaver’s style was early Romantic, with compositions that were highly regarded by his contemporaries Schubert and Schumann. The Polonaise mélancolique was an ideal medium for Franz Xaver’s expressive melodies, and with some pieces anticipating Chopin, the Op. 17 collection forms a satisfying and substantial cycle. All of these works helped to establish Franz Xaver Mozart throughout Europe as a formidable concert pianist and composer.

Max Reger is best known for vast, abstract keyboard works in fugue and variation form. But alongside these masterful constructions his creativity also turned to more introspective album pages that reveal an entirely different side to his character. The influence of Schumann can be found in the first of his Improvisationen alongside echoes of Brahms and Chopin in the Six Morceaux. We also encounter rhapsodic miniatures from Aus meinem Tagebuch and the popular Maria-Wiegenlied, with the late collection Träume am Kamin appearing as a self-confessional summary of Reger’s career and style.
