Shabazz Palaces release two new mini-albums, Robed in Rareness and Exotic Birds of Prey. Shabazz Palaces is masterminded by Ishmael Butler (Digable Planets), whose relentless drive to reimagine hip-hop – even as he enjoys his fifth decade on Earth – remains undiminished. Exotic Birds of Prey furthers the modus operandi of Robed in Rareness: a respectful eye on the past, an embrace of an ever-evolving present, with its feet firmly planted in the future. Where Robed warped sounds like shoegaze and ambient music into the Shabazz Palaces multiverse, Exotic cross-pollinates these elements with twisted electro and funk vibes.

Third Man Records live direct-to-acetate recordings take place in the Blue Room in Nashville, TN and are cut exclusively on a 1955 Scully lathe that originally came from King Records in Cincinnati. Recorded live in one-shot, with no overdubs, no redo's, no starting-and-stopping, the process is truly of another time, rendered obsolete by the late 1950's and only available nowadays in TMR's locations in Detroit and Nashville. Kassa’s show was recorded on May 3, 2022.

The Belgian-Congolese rapper and visual artist Baloji held the world premiere of his feature debut Omen at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Omen, which is in competition in Un Certain Regard, centers around a rejected Congolese man named Koffi (Marc Zinga). He returns to the Democratic Republic of Congo with his pregnant European fiancée Alice (Lucie Debay) after a lengthy exile to share their happy news, only to be faced by the traditional demands of a family who still view him with disregard.

'Liberation' is the new album from producer, composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Sly5thAve. Overcoming creative struggles and focusing on being true to himself, Sly5thAve felt liberated upon completing the title track "Liberation", a sentiment that shaped the album's title. Born from a demo created five years ago during Sly5thAve's initial attempt to conceive the album, "Liberation" draws inspiration from beloved blaxploitation film soundtracks and iconic artists like Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch, Herbie Hancock, Gordon Parks & J. Insano (stylized in all caps) is the ninth studio album by American rapper Kid Cudi. It was released on January 12, 2024, via Wicked Awesome Records and Republic Records. Kid Cudi had announced this would be his last contractual album with Republic, the major-label he had been with since his commercial debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day (2009). The album follows his 2022 effort Entergalactic, which was accompanied by a visual component, an award-winning TV special of the same name.

Moonchild Sanelly - real name Sanelisiwe Twisha - announces her long-awaited second album. Action Adventure is DJ Shadow's seventh solo LP, an inward-looking project, made for Shadow alone without any collaborators. DJ Shadow explains, “This album is about my relationship to music. My life as a collector and curator. All my records and tapes.”“Ozone Scraper” is the lead single of the album campaign. It represents the feeling of transportation, of jet engines lifting the passenger somewhere impossible. It's one of DJ Shadow's favorites on the album, as it's an invitation to strap in and also sets the table for the kind of deep listening Shadow loves.

"The starting point of this record is a quote from the film director Orson Welles, which evokes the notion of accident in the creative process. I always thought that accidents were an integral part of creation and the job of a film or music director is also to know how to capture them in order to make the accident an artistic intention. I decided not to follow a well established concept but this more instinctive guideline and to go fishing for accidents".

The album is a classic Streets album - filled with Skinner’s trademark lyrical wizardry and beats honed over a decade of building his other career as a legitimate bass/rap DJ in clubs - all songs written by Skinner but featuring vocal contributions from longtime collaborators Kevin Mark Trail and Robert Harvey, as well as a track featuring Teef. The songs on the album soundtrack the film and also play the role of narrator of the film at times - and whilst neither the album or film exist without each other - both can be enjoyed separately.

For All the Dogs is the eighth studio album by Canadian rapper and singer Drake. It was released through OVO Sound and Republic Records on October 6, 2023. The album features guest appearances from Teezo Touchdown, 21 Savage, J. Cole, Yeat, SZA, PartyNextDoor, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Sexyy Red, and Lil Yachty. Production was handled by Drake, Teezo Touchdown, and Lil Yachty themselves, along with 40, Sango, Oz, Bnyx, Southside, Boi-1da, Vinylz, Tay Keith, FnZ, Jahaan Sweet, DJ Screw, Stwo, Gordo, and Justin Raisen, among others. The album was preceded by two singles, "Slime You Out" and "8AM in Charlotte", the former of which features SZA. It follows both of Drake's albums that were released in 2022: his seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, and his collaborative studio album with 21 Savage titled Her Loss.
