In fashion circles, the adjective “bespoke” denotes custom-made suits and shirts and signifies the person who designs and constructs them. On "The Bespoke Man’s Narrative", pianist Aaron Diehl extrapolates this notion to matters of musical invention. The five originals and five arrangements comprising the programme were chosen specifically for Diehl's quartet of young all-stars: vibraphonist Warren Wolf, bassist David Wong and drummer Rodney Green.

Rising jazz singer Cécile McLorin Salvant follows up her acclaimed North American debut album with this Grammy nominated release which features five original songs. The twentysomething Salvant also covers Burt Bacharach’s "Wives and Lovers", "What's the Matter Now?", originally popularized by Bessie Smith and Le Mal de Vivre, sung in French. Salvant's debut was named the Jazz Album of the Year in the 2014 DownBeat International Critics Poll, which also honoured her as Female Vocalist of the Year and gave her two Rising Star awards.

Widely acknowledged as a modern master in the aftermath of his acclaimed 2012 Mack Avenue debut, 29-year-old pianist-composer Aaron Diehl ups the ante with the 2015 release "Space, Time, Continuum". Diehl first documented his inclusive, across-the-timeline conception on the self-released late ʼ00s albums Live At Caramoor, a solo date on which he navigated the stride piano canon with deep assurance; and Live At The Players, on which he applied a broad lexicon of piano trio vocabulary to a program spanning classical music, bebop and the blues.

"WomanChild" is the 2013 release by award-winning jazz vocalist, Cecile McLorin Salvant. The recording finds Cecile interpreting songs spanning three centuries of American music. Joining Cecile are pianist Aaron Diehl, bassist Rodney Whitaker, guitarist James Chirillo and drummer Herlin Riley. The album gives music lovers the opportunity to hear her captivating vocals which earned her top honors at the Monk Competition.

2013 release from the Jazz vibraphonist. Wolfgang features two different three-man rhythm sections (pianist Benny Green, bassist Christian McBride and drummer Lewis Nash; and pianist Aaron Goldberg, bassist Kris Funn and drummer Billy Williams, Jr.), as well as two noteworthy duo pieces with pianist/label-mate Aaron Diehl. Wolf and Diehl are both building their careers as young (each under age 35) musicians keeping the Jazz tradition alive.

Since its rollicking debut at the 2012 Detroit Jazz Festival, the Mack Avenue SuperBand has become a tradition at the annual event, a gathering of label superstars that the Motor City can look forward to every Labor Day weekend.
