Dwellings has released their new single, “Devices”, preceding the drop of 'Little Garden', their sophomore album due out on June 30, 2023. This song is the band’s first release since their 2019 single “Pick Up Before You Go” which quickly became one of the bands most popular songs with over 2 million streams on Spotify. “Devices” is the first of several singles set to drop in anticipation of the bands second full-length album at the end of June 2023, just in time for the 5th anniversary of Dwellings’ debut album “Lavender Town”.
After 3 years without any new releases, fans have been ravenous for more from the band, and Dwellings has delivered. Their new single “Devices” is a masterclass on juxtaposition; high energy vocals and fast paced tempos fabricate the illusion of a lighthearted tune meant for a spring-time joyride. Only upon closer examination does the listener discover the well of depth within its lyrics. “Devices” tells a story about self-reliance and the courage it takes to accept that, at the end of the day, you are the only person you can count on.
In vocalist Isaac Wilson’s words, “‘Devices’ is about starting in a new place left with nothing except the things in your pockets and on your back. It’s about embarking on a journey to a new place and how the ups and downs affect your resolve. There are hints of losing it and wanting to give up as well as lines of bravery and great respect towards the end goal.”
