When Mike Smith appears in public, he usually does so in the image of his character "Bubbles". In fact, he appeared as the foul-mouthed "Bubbles" in the music video "Legal" by Canadian artist Snow. There were so many swear words that most of his dialogues had to be skipped. He also appeared alongside fellow The Trailer Park Boys actors Rab Wells (Ricky) and John Paul Tremblay (Julian) in The Darkest One, a tragicomedy-style video starring Don Cherry. Shortly before that, Mike joined Robb and John Paul on a tour of Canada with the musical group Our Lady Peace.
