Fafá de Belém, born Maria de Fátima Palha de Figueiredo in Belém do Pará on August 9, 1956, is a Brazilian singer considered one of the great female singers of MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira). She took her stage name from the city of her birth and in addition to a successful recording career that spans over three decades, it is fair to say that she has been one of the great sex symbols of Brazilian pop music. Her husky mezzo-soprano voice is known for its extensive emotional range, from tender ballads, to sensual love songs, to Portuguese fados all the way to energetic sambas and lambadas.

The single "The Night Inside Me" reached number 25 on the Adult Contemporary chart. As of February 2004 the album had sold 139,000 copies in United States according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Black Box is an Italian house music group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group is currently made up of DJ Daniele Davoli, classically trained clarinet teacher Valerio Semplici, keyboardist and electronic musician Mirko Limoni, and vocalist Celestine Walcott-Gordon. French fashion model Katrin Quinol joined the act in 1989 and became the official face of Black Box, appearing on the cover of their single and album releases as well as in music videos, including the hit "Ride on Time", which was the highest-selling single of 1989 in the UK. The following year, it was revealed that Quinol was lip-syncing and had not performed on the recording. American singer Martha Wash performed the majority of the songs on the group's debut album, Dreamland, while being uncredited.

Injoy is an album by the Memphis, Tennessee-based funk band The Bar-Kays. Released on Mercury Records in October 1979, this album reached number two on the Billboard Soul Album chart. It was the band's biggest selling album, and their second to be certified Gold for sales of over 500,000 copies. The album’s first single, Move Your Boogie Body, was a Top 3 hit on the Billboard R&B singles chart. The album’s third track, Running In And Out Of My Life, also received substantial airplay and was a hit on R&B radio stations. It is one of the few Bar-Kays songs where the lead vocal is not performed by Larry Dodson. Sherman Guy performed the lead vocal with Dodson adding backgrounds.

Amii Stewart is a studio album by Amii Stewart released in 1983 which includes hit single "Working Late Tonight" as well as covers of two songs from Donna Summer's unreleased 1981 album I'm a Rainbow. In 2015, Funky Town Grooves announced they would be reissuing the album on CD for the first time ever.

The Nick Straker Band were an English pop music group from London, England, led by musician and vocalist Nick Straker. Several members of the band were also in New Musik, and the band's line-up consisted of Straker along with Tony Mansfield, Tony Hibbert, David McShearer, Pete Hammond and Phil Towner. Their song "A Walk in the Park" (released June 1979 Pinnacle label) peaked at No. 20 on the UK Singles Chart in 1980, having previously been a substantial hit in Continental Europe in 1979. Their most successful song in the US was "A Little Bit of Jazz", which spent one week at No. 1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play Chart in 1981.

Engenheiros do Hawaii ("Engineers from Hawaii" in English) was a Brazilian rock band formed in Porto Alegre in 1983 that achieved great popularity with their ironic, critically charged songs with heavily semantic lyrics often relying on wordplays. The vocalist and bassist Humberto Gessinger was the only member present since the original lineup.
