Description
What if you could design your own gorgeous home, without hiring an interior designer? If you’ve ever struggled to know how to choose furniture, what layout would work best or how to make a room come together, this course is going to give you the design basics to pull off your own beautiful designs!I personally love designing my own home, and I have a lot of friends that do as well - we take a lot of pride and joy in creating beautiful, cozy spaces for our family. However, one of the biggest hurdles I see is people getting stuck not knowing what it takes to tie a room together or "finish" it.This workshop is intended to give you the foundational design basics necessary to know how to make the right design choices, without overwhelming you with TOO MUCH information, or having to send you to design school. We start by discussing design psychology - how what you're really going after in your design is a feeling, and how we can cultivate that feeling intentionally through design. We spend some time planning and learning how to assess your space properly so you know what your starting point is.From there, we dive into foundational design basics that are instrumental in helping you understand what makes a room "work". Spatial planning is a huge part of creating a beautiful, functional design that works. We'll talk about the different design rules for layout, how to make the most of your space and more. Finally, we focus on bringing it all together. We will talk fixtures and finishings, textiles, rugs, curtains, accessories and how to make the room finally come together.
