This new album by the award-winning Latvian Radio Choir conducted by Sigvards Kļava – recently hailed by the New York Times as ‘astonishing’, ‘superlative’ by the BBC Music Magazine, and ‘perhaps the finest chorus singing today’ by NPR – is focused on the sacred choral works by one of the greatest composers of the Romantic era, Felix Mendelssohn (1809–1847).

Anton Bruckner's Ninth Symphony, his last and unfinished work, is a monumental testimony to the composer's spiritual and musical vision. It combines tremendous orchestral power with deep introspection and culminates in a deeply moving Adagio. Allegedly dedicated ‘to the majesty of all majesties, the dear God’, the symphony reflects Bruckner's deep faith and is characterised by rich harmonies and extraordinary emotional depth.

Philadelphia based contemporary choral ensemble The Crossing releases their latest collection of premiere recordings of works written for them by Wang Lu, Ayanna Woods, and Tawnie Olson. The ensemble highlights its versatility in works that celebrate lush vocal harmonies and creative approaches to writing for ensemble voices.

On April 4, 2025, French oboist Céline Moinet will release her fourth album on the Berlin Classics label. On this album, Moinet presents an exquisite collection of chamber music works by the Salzburg masters Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Luigi Gatti. She is accompanied by her long-time musical collaborators Mahamed Hiber (violin), Sindy Mohamed (viola), and Tim Park (cello). Together, they open up a fascinating sound world for the listeners, featuring both well-known and lesser-known works by these two composers.

The Bevan Family Consort return with a selection of choral works celebrating the season of lent and passiontide, including a world premiere recording of of the six-voice Lamentations by Alfonso Ferrabosco the Elder. The programme follows the liturgy from the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday to the darkness of Holy Saturday. For each day of Tenebrae, they’ve included a setting of a Lamentation. “Recording an album with the family is always moving, but this one was especially so because of the theme of the music… Like previous albums, this one contains well-worn family favourites beside newly-discovered or un-recorded rarities, thanks to our in-house editor and arch-polyphony enthusiast, Francis… We hope you enjoy our selection and that it can be a prayerful accompaniment to the Lenten season.”

In the Mirror is an exquisite collection of works by contemporary women composers, masterfully interpreted by cellist Heather Tuach and pianist Yoko Misumi, both members of the celebrated Greenwich Trio. Det Norske Jentekor, in English the Norwegian Girls Choir, is a well-loved institution in Norwegian culture, ultimately under the protection of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Major vocalists, including Lilleba Lund and Elisabeth Norberg-Schulz on the operatic side and Elin Rosseland and Anita Skorgan from the world of jazz and pop, passed through the choir early in their careers.
