Helen Mirren (Calendar Girls, Gosford Park) is back as Inspector Jane Tennison in an eagerly awaited new episode of the Emmy award-winning series Prime Suspect on ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre. I had the pleasure to see the special screening in LA back in November, and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought this would be a so-so vanity project for an actor (David Hewlett), but this is one of the best comedies on film. I want to see it again because I missed bits as the laughter was so loud - and virtually continuous. It is absolutely brilliant. A Dog's Breakfast *deserves* a wide release. It's a sleeper that will make a ton of money by word of mouth. Unfortunately, I think Hollywood is allergic to intelligent films. Think "Napoleon Dynamite" but better, oh Hollywood machine!

Sam and Molly are a very happy couple and deeply in love. Walking back to their new apartment after a night out at the theatre, they encounter a thief in a dark alley, and Sam is murdered. He finds himself trapped as a ghost and realises that his death was no accident. He must warn Molly about the danger that she is in. But as a ghost he can not be seen or heard by the living, and so he tries to communicate with Molly through Oda Mae Brown, a psychic who didn't even realise that her powers were real.

Tamara (Jenna Dewan) is an unattractive and not popular abused girl in a high-school. She has a crush on her Literature teacher, Mr. Bill Natolly (Matthew Marsden), and she likes witchcraft. When his teacher publishes her article about the use of steroids by the high-school athletes in the school newspaper expecting to improve her self-esteem, the matter indeed puts the students against Tamara. Three classroom mates use three other silly students to play a prank with Tamara, but they accidentally kill her. Due to a spell, Tamara returns from death and plots a lethal evil revenge against the group, and tries to take Bill from his beloved wife, since there is a bond between Bill and Tamara due to the witchcraft.

National Lampoon movies are funny in a low brow way. "Adam and Eve" couldn't cut the mustard. Emmanuelle Chriqui is GORGEOUS, but that alone couldn't save the movie. The love story is sweet, and the chaste Eve is treated in a respectful way, but the script wasn't funny, the supporting characters were not funny. George Dzundza, who I remember fondly from his Law and Order days, was wasted in this film. The male lead seemed too stoned and apathetic to care about anyone.

The highly controversial film based on one of the best basketball players the world has never known. This is the true story about a kid who came from a supportive family and was a high school basketball star with a 50 inch vertical leap that had the skills and athletic ability to become a pro, but, as he got older, he began to realize that basketball was very political and being talented had nothing to do with it. The story of a young basketball player's struggle to achieve his dreams against all odds and against all the dishonest coaches who tried to derail his efforts.
