After the albums Espaces et Hors temps already published on Label Bleu, I composed the opus De l'ombre à l'aube which is inspired by the concept of light. This is the third and last part of this triptych. Space, time and light appear as a trinity of scientific concepts in the deepening of knowledge of the laws of the universe. As if to find a new breath, a wind of hope, like a ray of light that sometimes only manages with difficulty to find its way through the dark, the opaque, even the obscure, I pulled on the thread of my imagination, without really knowing what was at the other end. This gesture of composition was instinctively precious and inspiring to me.
During a trip on the island of Guernsey, while visiting the Hauteville house that belonged to Victor Hugo, I felt a powerful emotion emanating from this incomparable place. I already knew some of Hugo's novels and drawings so expressive and precisely all in contrast with black or brown ink. I discovered a total artist there where every part of his home had been thought out, arranged like a work of art. This aesthetic shock led me to reconsider all of Hugo through his entire work, his crossings of the desert, his fights and political positions taken. My music recorded here was largely inspired by these all these ideas of lights, at all possible compositional levels. It is the modest imprint of a vital attempt to be reborn from oneself, a desire to recover in search of a state as close as possible to weightlessness. "Every man in his night goes to his light… ", "The sky that I have in my soul is more heavenly! » « […] Here at last the Fearful crossing, from one star to another, has begun. According to legend, the last words uttered by Victor Hugo on May 22, 1885 would have been: "This is the fight of the day and the night. "We will also find, to give a listening track in this musical journey deployed here, a more general reflection on the influence of the presence of singular celestial objects as invisible as fascinating, called black holes. Where the matter of the sky is concentrated to the extreme when the forces of gravitational attractions exceed that of the speed of light! Then even the light cannot, it seems, escape from it… and yet here is what Stephen Hawking announces in his book A Brief History of Time: "My message, here and now, is that black holes are not as black as they are portrayed. These are not the eternal prisons that have been described. Things can come out of a black hole, in our universe and maybe in others. So if you feel that you are in a black hole, don't lose hope: there is a way out of it! »
