Dmitry Baevsky (alto saxophone) wanted to invite one of the artists he considers the most, for his approach to jazz and for his musicality: the guitarist Peter Bernstein. The two musicians had already crossed paths several times, on stage, in the studio or during the nightlife of New York clubs.

Dmitry Baevsky and Peter Bernstein have in common this extra soul in the depth of their sound, in their way of posing each note with a particular intention and projection, without ever trying to shine or to put themselves personally forward in relation to the music and the band. Alongside them we find the double bassist David Wong already present alongside the saxophonist on "Soundtrack" and the drummer Jason Brown with whom Dmitry Baevsky recorded "Kid's Time". Listening to the eleven tracks of the album, we perceive the remarkable understanding that reigns between the four members of the group.

The album does not respond to any particular concept or project. Dmitry Baevsky built the repertoire thinking about the musicians gathered for this session, taking into account their personality, a bit like a screenwriter writing according to the actors of the film.

The repertoire includes two original compositions by the violist and nine pieces with contrasting atmospheres, from The Matador by Grant Green to The Sun Died written by Hubert Giraud, via a calypso by Tommy Flanagan, the famous Sentimental Blues by Ray Charles or the melancholic Gloomy Sunday composed by Rezsó Seress and made famous by Billie Holiday. It is in duet that the violist and the guitarist open and close this album.
