German mountain troops: A selection of German wartime photographs from the Bundesarchiv, Koblenz

Specially trained, uniformed and equipped, the eight divisions of German mountain troops -Gebirgsjager-fought with distinction from the Arctic Circle to the Mediterranean, taking part in many of the decisive battles of World War 2. This unique photographic history records their activities in Norway, Finland, Russia, the Bal­kans and Italy; shows their uniforms, badges and hardware; and outlines the operations in which they participated. It will thus be welcomed by military historians, enthusiasts and modellers as filling a genuine gap in the literature of the war.
