This is a very well-conceived and valuable reference volume for the social and cultural history of Sephardi/Mizrahi Jewry over the past two centuries. The rich and detailed variety of regional and topical presentations will make it a welcome addition to the growing body of literature on this important, but hitherto neglected area of the Jewishexperience.
