"Blackberry Molasses" is the 1996 debut single by Atlanta R&B vocal quartet Mista. The group featured Bobby Valentino and this was one of 1996's biggest singles. This was the group's only hit, it lead to an album but they vanished soonafter, with Valentino having a solo career afterwards. The CD single features five mixes of "Blackberry Molasses" including one mix featuring then-young rapper Shyheim a/k/a The Rugged Child. It also contains brief excerpts of songs from their then-forthcoming album.
