Much as the current Allman Brothers lineup had coalesced in 2003, the ensemble that came together in 1989 for the twentieth anniversary box set Dreams (Polydor, 1989) tour had tightened considerably (minus keyboardist /vocalist Johnny Neel) by the time they decided to engage in their first extended run at New York's Beacon Theatre and record themselves for a live album. "Play All Night: Live At the Beacon Theatre" consists of performances captured on March 10 & 11 in 1992 and over the course of its two discs, effectively supplants the concert pieces of that era captured on "An Evening With".

Duane and Gregg Allman found themselves in a host of other projects before the famed Allman Brothers Band began their ascent to success. This release is an album-length demo recording of a Tallahassee-basked folk rock band the 31st of February, which featured Duane Allman on guitar and Gregg Allman on vocals. While the 31st of February would eventually disband, this record is a rare insight into the early days of the Allmans and features the first ever recording of the song "Melissa".

The Gregg Allman Tour is the first live album by Gregg Allman, released in 1974. It was recorded at Carnegie Hall and Capitol Theatre. It peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Pop Albums charts in 1974. It was originally released as a double LP. For this concert, Allman was backed by the band Cowboy, who played two of their own songs. Cowboy was a Capricorn Records label-mate and was Duane Allman's favorite band. Several of its members had already backed Gregg Allman on his debut album the previous year.
