At the time of its release, this was the watershed for soundtracks, selling a kazillion copies. It documents Whitney Houston's character in the Kevin Costner movie, which required Houston to play only herself (although one hopes she wouldn't end up with someone as smarmy as Costner). The album is as much a testament to the production of Babyface who, through the mid-1990s, actually was the mainstream of contemporary hit music. Houston's singing is much better than her acting, and almost every song enjoyed a long tenure at the top of all the charts. Along with "I Will Always Love You" and five other Houston songs, the soundtrack also features Lisa Stansfield, Kenny G with Aaron Neville, and Joe Cocker with Sass Jordan.

This is an excellent CD. Cura's voice is unusually soft and caressing, much like it was on his most outstanding BOLEROS CD. His is without question the most unique tenor voice out there and Ewa. Malas provided him with the perfect counterpart. Her sweet, lyrical colatura soprano voice and it blends perfectly with both Cura's voice and the musical arrangements.

This album is the distinctly different from Cura`s "opera albums", very beautiful "pop" voice of opera superstar Jose Cura, served up with heartfelt delivery of the texts by this master of musical story-telling. Each selection is a unique jewel infused with love, or longing, or wistfulness, or gentle humor. The rich baritonial purr of Cura's lower range is like lush velvet through this music, which, contrary to some reviews, is not Argentinian, but mostly out of Central America. The higher reaches in these songs alternate between exquisite softness and a soaring strength of sound that hints at what this singer can offer on the opera stage. The arrangements are beautifully scored, whether with full orchestra, a jazzy combo, or just piano accompaniment. A delightful dozen these are! Sit back, relax, and enjoy them.

José Cura is one of a number of tenors who have been making waves since the late '90s. He cuts an unusually athletic figure on-stage, he brings a strong, masculine sound to everything he sings, and – and this is where he really stands out – he is known for simultaneously singing and conducting some of his own concerts and recordings. Artist Portrait is a sampler drawn from a number of his recordings; it offers the opportunity to hear the entire spectrum of his career to this point.

Garou - Reviens (2003)
mp3 | 192 Kbps | 83.6 Mb

This album is the second studio album of Garou after "Seul" (2000) and " Seul … Avec Vous " (concert, 2001). Garou united durying the work on this album musicians who already worked with him and the new ones. Garou confirmed his status of the french-canadian star of first size, which he has received after an output of the debut album that had become three times platinum in Europe and Canada. In new album you will find high quality music and excellent lyrics, however, style and mood of "Reviens" is absolutely different, even unpredictable. It reminds of those times when Garou sang in Quebek bars and its favourite reception was improvisation so even his musicians did not know, what song would be next in his performance. In this album it is impossible to guess, what the next song will be like, they are so different. This album is like Garou himself, unpredictable, willing to risk and break stereotypes. It includes a lot of fast and energetis songs ("Reviens", "Passe Ta Route"), beautiful romantic ballads ("L’aveu", "Ne Me Parlez Plus Delle"), rock songs ("Hemingway"), blues ("Une Derniere Fois Encore") and even сhanson("Les Filles")
