The Kentucky Headhunters is a Grammy Award-winning American country rock band. It was founded in 1968 as Itchy Brother, which comprised brothers Richard Young (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Fred Young (drums) along with Greg Martin (lead guitar, vocals) and Anthony Kenney (bass guitar, vocals). The Young brothers and Martin began performing as The Kentucky Headhunters in 1986, adding brothers Ricky Lee Phelps (lead vocals, harmonica) and Doug Phelps (bass guitar, vocals) to the membership.

With the release of its 1989 debut album Pickin' on Nashville via Mercury Records, the band charted four straight Top 40 country hits. A second album for Mercury, Electric Barnyard, did not do as well commercially, and the Phelps brothers left after its release to form Brother Phelps. Kenney re-joined and Mark S. Orr took over on lead vocals for 1993's Rave On!! and a compilation album entitled The Best of The Kentucky Headhunters: Still Pickin' before the band exited Mercury. Orr left and Doug Phelps rejoined in 1996 for the album Stompin' Grounds, also leading on the Audium Entertainment albums Songs from the Grass String Ranch and Soul, as well as Big Boss Man and a second compilation, Flying Under the Radar, on CBuJ Entertainment. After Kenney's departure, Doug once again took over as bass guitarist. The Kentucky Headhunters has released seven studio albums, two compilations, and twenty singles, of which the highest-peaking is the #8 "Oh Lonesome Me" from early 1990. In addition, the band has won three Country Music Association awards and an Academy of Country Music award.

Il a publié son premier enregistrement en 1964 chez Decca avec pour titre vedette Adieu à un ami, qui était un hommage à Buddy Holly. Il compte à son actif une dizaine de 45 tours et un album 33 tours. Malgré d'évidentes qualités et quelques succès (Elle m'attend, Où va-t-elle ?), il a renoncé à sa carrière artistique après cinq ans d'activité, faute d'avoir acquis une popularité à la mesure de son attente.

The musical history of Macon, Georgia is undeniably rooted in the R&B, Southern rock and blues that exploded from the region in the late 1960s and early '70s. Alive Down South features previously unreleased live recordings from some of Southern rock's most influential and popular artists – the Allman Brothers Band, Wet Willie, Stillwater, the Dixie Dregs, Sea Level and Elvin Bishop. The cuts on this disc were remastered and sequenced to sound like one continuous concert, making the music showcased here bold, robust and definitely alive, like its title implies. Stillwater is captured live at the "Rebel Jam" in Atlanta in 1978 doing "Out On a Limb" and "Mind-Bender," followed by the Dixie Dregs from the same venue contributing "Take It Off the Top" and their musical tribute to the home of their label (Capricorn), "Macon Bacon." Elvin Bishop is featured on two of his good-natured tunes from an unspecified date, "Stealin' Watermelons" and "Goin' Fishin'." One of the earliest acts to sign with Capricorn, Wet Willie, are represented by a pair of tunes (Little Willie John's and Little Milton's "Grits Ain't Groceries" and "Everything That'Cha Do") recorded at the Roxy in Los Angeles in 1976. Sea Level, the offshoot project consisting of the rhythm section from the Allman Brothers Band are also captured live at the Roxy with "Take Out Some Insurance" and "Tidal Wave," a song from their first album. Following this is the Allman Brothers Band at the Nassau Coliseum in 1976 with "Statesboro Blues " (featuring a rough-as-a-cob vocal from Gregg Allman) and an uptempo version of "One Way Out" that the crowd responds quite audibly to. The disc closes out with a jam between Sea Level and the Dixie Dregs ("Hot 'Lanta Jam") that really shines as Chuck Leavell tags it with a beautiful coda, incorporating "Little Martha," the Duane Allman and Dickey Betts acoustic tune that closes the Eat a Peach album. For lovers of classic Southern rock, this disc provides a treasure trove of performances.

Alors que le punk français est plutôt du genre sérieux, les textes de Bulldozer sont des petites merveilles de cynisme particulièrement bien tournées qui ne sont pas sans rappeler ceux d’artistes comme Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, Renaud ou Bashung. Alors que d’autres prêchent la révolution à tous les coins de rues, Bulldozer choisit la méthode Coluche et plie son public en quatre.
