Virtual DJ Studio (VDJ) is an MP3 Mixer for live DJ performances. With it, you can Mix MP3 Files, play Karaoke with Multiple Monitor Support, use multiple Sound Cards, and adjust Pitch and Tempo on each file individually. VDJ also contains a full 10-band Graphic Equalizer, full support for Audio Plugins, a Spectrum Analyzer, integrated File Navigator, Playlist Editor and many more tools for DJs.
Virtual DJ Studio is unlike any other MP3 DJ Mixer. It allows you to have several Music Files loaded up and ready to go. It has an integrated ID3 Tag Editor and Playlist Editor, and many other unique features that allow you to Mix MP3s like a Pro.
Virtual DJ Studio now has full Karaoke support. Loads of exclusive Karaoke features include: Background image support, multiple-monitor support, set colors, adjust sync, and direct .zip file playback. Play multiple MP3 and Wave files, with tempo/pitch control for beat-matching. You can set a configurable number of 'lines', each of which has its own MP3/WAV file player, volume control, pitch/tempo control.
VDJ supports MP3+CDG, and supports multiple monitors (for example, a Television connected to your video card). You can either play an MP3 that has a corresponding .CDG file, or you can play directly from a ZIP file. VDJ does this directly, with no need to create temporary files (like most other programs do). VDJ is the only Karaoke system that lets you seek while directly playing a ZIP or MP3 file, without ever losing sync!
Virtual DJ Studio is not like all of the other DJ programs out there. While other programs limit you to two players with a Cross-Fader, Virtual DJ Studio provides you with an entire studio. The two-deck metaphor is out-dated. There is no reason to limit yourself when your PC can easily give you so much more. Now, with Virtual DJ Studio, you can break free from this tired metaphor!
VDJ's File Navigator gives you a whole new way to locate your music. It functions as a file manager, displaying all supported file types along with extra information (bitrate, sample frequency, bit resolution, etc). The File Navigator lets you preview any file without having to open it. File Navigator also contains an integrated Playlist Editor, for building and managine PLS, M3U or VDJ playlist files.
File Navigator also has two File Queues, holding areas for songs you just want to keep handy. You might use one for song requests, and the other to store common popular tunes. Both File Queues remember what they contained the next time you open VDJ.
VDJ offers Plugin support. Third parties can contribute audio processing plugins that can be used within VDJ's Plugin Manager. VDJ comes with a few Plugins as well, including a Compressor/Limiter, a Low-Pass Filter, and Stereo Expansion.
Changes in Virtual DJ Studio 4.5; August 18, 2006:
- Bug Fix:
Many bugs have been fixed in this new version. Specifically, if you were unable to open more than one MP3 file at a time, this has finally been fixed. It turns out some users had a bad CODEC installed on their machine that caused this problem. VDJ now specifically uses the correct CODEC for MP3 playback.
- New Feature: Karaoke Singers List
You can queue up singers and much more with this new version.
- New Feature: Save Layout
You can now save your layout - open files, volume/pitch/pan settings, and all toggle button states on each line. Simply right-click on VDJ's interface and select Save Layout. You can then recall the entire layout with the same right-click menu.
This is useful when you are running a Television program, Play, or other event where each segment requires a different set of files – and you want to save not only the files, but the volume levels, pitch settings, etc for each file used in the segment.
- Also New: Adjust Key
This is a popular feature for Karaoke shows; you can now adjust the key for Karaoke songs by +/-6 steps.
