Unique in Europe: Under the artistic direction of the Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel, six and nine jazz musicians, who were selected by a specialist jury for the Focusyear in the Jazzcampus Basel from applications submitted worldwide, meet to spend a whole year together with the Focusyear with a scholarship to devote the band intensively to the music.Tracklist:
The selected musicians will once again prove the professionalism of this music project this year with multifaceted harmonies, sophisticated melodies and complex soundscapes. The compositions are interspersed with virtuoso solos of the individual instruments through to the merging of these into a colorful sound and allow the listener to immerse themselves in the world of modern jazz. As a prelude to this annual project, the Focusyear Band has again created a complete work of the highest standard this year.
