Shadows Collide with People is the fifth studio album by John Frusciante (best known as the guitarist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers). The album was written during the recording of By the Way, and is widely regarded as his most accessible work, featuring a mix of guitar-driven alternative rock, folk ballads, and electronica.

The Uplift Mofo Party Plan is the third studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on September 29, 1987 on EMI Records. Due to prior obligations resulting in temporary personnel changes following the band's formation in 1983, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan is the only studio album to feature all four founding members of the band on every single track: vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, guitarist Hillel Slovak, and drummer Jack Irons. The record features the band's signature funk rock musical style, but also draws influences from reggae and heavy metal.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers is the debut studio album by Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 10, 1984 on EMI Records. 'We went in search of ourselves as the band that we have somehow always been. Just for the fun of it we jammed and learned some old songs. Freaky Styley is the second studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on August 16, 1985 on EMI Records. The album name holds its origins in a commonly used phrase in the '80s to describe anything as being "freaky styley". Freaky Styley marks founding guitarist Hillel Slovak's studio album debut, following his return to the band earlier in the year. The album is also the last to feature drummer Cliff Martinez. Freaky Styley was produced by George Clinton, of Parliament-Funkadelic.

On lead track 'Black Summer', ethereal guitar underlines introspective lyrics as the rhythm unlocks a hypnotic drum groove highlighted by evocative bass. It quietly inhales only to exhale with a massive refrain, 'It's been a long time since I made a new friend, waiting on another black summer to end', before a guitar solo echoes to the heavens and back. The interplay between the band borders on intergalactic once again - yet elevated to another stratosphere altogether. A Red Hot Chili Peppers album with John Frusciante is always an event. The guitarist returns to the Californian formation after twelve years of absence, the group donning the same trappings that made the successes of Blood Sugar Sex Magik in 1991 or Californication in 1999. Produced once again by Rick Rubin, Unlimited Love therefore reminds us of the most melodic of the Red Hot, greatly favoring precisely melancholy songs like Not The One or White Braids & Pillow Chair, even bordering on adolescent emotions. We also find there the dripping and metallic basses of Flea, virtuoso hubbub, on Here Ever After, already audible on a hit like By The Way in 2002. Rather than the tangy pop object that raged during Frusciante's recent absence, here is a group that reconnects with funk on Poster Child or with disco motifs on the excellent Aquatic Mouth Dance. This record smells of the 1990s, seems to emerge from spontaneous sessions like the title These Are The Ways, cut in the sound of the time. With a touch of modernity, the Red Hot Chili Peppers explore what has made them one of the most famous rock bands of recent decades, and deliver an album as an anti-wrinkle.
