The Dream is the eighth studio album released by English electronic group The Orb in August 2007. The album features somewhat of a return to the earlier sound of the Orb (notably, "The Truth Is…" features the same vocal sample as the group's early-90s single, "Blue Room"), and shares much more in common with their 2004 album Bicycles and Tricycles than with their minimal 2005 release, Okie Dokie It's the Orb on Kompakt.

With her debut solo album Ya Nass (2013), Yasmine Hamdan introduced her personal, modern take on Arabic pop. In Al Jamilat (‘The Beautiful Ones’), she pursues her musical exploration, while taking a look at the mutations at work within the Arab world. While Yasmine’s vocals are definitely connected to traditions of Arabic music (to which she takes an unconventional and fresh approach), the structures and arrangements of the songs are very remote from its codes, and take in elements from contemporary Western electronic, pop and folk music.

Claude Challe is an idiosyncratic figure in France's musical landscape, more a catalyst and some might say visionary, rather than musician. Challe managed to be on the cutting edge of youth fashions across the 1960s and 1970s, reappearing in the late '90s with even greater appeal. His CV boasts that he is an international DJ, fashion and nightlife entrepreneur, and new age guru all of which is, more or less, true. Yet a large part of his reputation comes from his association with celebrities (via his nightclubs) and his reputation as a ladies man non pariel. This and the fact he's long been recognized as Paris's premier club DJ.

Quite similar to Björk as one of the most eccentric female vocalists in electronic music, Nicolette also knows how to pick producers who get the best out of her songs. She selected Plaid to mix it up on her political-minded single "No Government," while elsewhere the singer works with Alec Empire, 4Hero and Felix (Roni Size and Dillinja help out with remixes). Let No One Live Rent Free in Your Head is one of the most glowing moments of mid-'90s vocal electronica.

Electronic, Experimental, Trip-hop, Dubstep | 33:58 mins | Mp3, 320 kbps | 80 MB
Label :Emika Records | Year Of Release :2015

Returning to vocal techno music after the all-instrumental, mostly piano album Klavírní, Drei is the third proper effort from electro artist Emika, and just like 2013's DVA, it seems like another refinement of her 2011 self-titled debut. Glassy melodies meet deep, dark, and almost dubstep-styled bass, while solitude and self-reflection drive the fragile lyrics. It's a simple formula, yet the results are diverse. "Without Expression" slinks across the room muttering "there's something wrong with me" and winds up utterly attractive and arguably sensual. On the other hand, the throbbing space song called "My Heart Bleeds Melody" could be lifted for any video game soundtrack that requires a little extra tension.

Film director Alfonso Cuarón's dystopian science fiction thriller Children of Men is about a near future in which human fertility has nearly ceased, and to represent a setting that is familiar yet disturbing, the compilers of this various-artists soundtrack (there is also an album of the score) have chosen some rock and pop songs by well-known artists dating back to the '60s, some of them, however, presented in versions not so well known. Everybody knows the heavy metal band Deep Purple, but the band's initial American hit, a cover of Joe South's "Hush," doesn't sound much like its more successful "Smoke on the Water" phase. The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" and the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday" are iconic '60s songs, but they are here performed by Junior Parker and heavily accented Italian singer Franco Battiato, respectively. John Lennon's "Bring on the Lucie (Freeda Peeple)," a song featured on his 1973 album Mind Games, is not one of his more celebrated numbers, despite its anthemic appeal; the version heard here is a rehearsal take that first appeared on the Lennon Anthology box set in 1998. There are also rap and reggae toasting tracks, and some electronic music, adding to the sense of dislocation called for in the film.

In May of 2015 we managed to persuade the Loess duo of Clay Emerson and Ian Pullman to come out of hiding and put together an isolatedmix. At the time, they acknowledged new material was in the pipeline, but with eleven years since their last full release, it could've easily been another five before we saw anything hit the table. They've become one of those infamous early electronica projects that set in motion a cult following, then went off radar. People still admire and lust over Loess' recordings (albeit when reminiscing over a rare copy of 3D Concepts Part 2, secretly wishing their was more to come…)
