The album is a 2 cd set which only allows more of the bands talent to be heard. All of their current hits are on this disc. The highlight belongs to "Plasticity" which remains one of their most upbeat and heavy songs ever.

The members of this Russian duo, Max K. (keyboards, music, sampling, market rituals) and Leonid M. (drums, programming, sound engineering, electronic manipulations) reside in Moscow and have been involved in electronic music since 1997. They met in 1998 and formed Cyclotimia shortly thereafter with the purpose of making experimental music together. They have subsequently become one of the most respected and well-known Russian projects in the electronic scene today. Cyclotimia's trademark sound proceeds from using a mix of the state-of-the-art synthesis technologies and vintage analog / Soviet machines. Their inspiration in global, free market aesthetics and using of religious samples makes Cyclotimia's message quite disturbing.

Skinny Puppy was indeed one of the most collectable industrial bands, issuing many singles that contained surprisingly strong tracks. In 1999, Nettwerk compiled some of the best for the companion to The Singles Collect. These tracks aren't the rarest in the Skinny Puppy catalog, considering most are B-sides from later singles like "Testure," "Worlock," "Censor," "Tormentor," and "Spasmolytic."

Total Terror part II is a continuaton of total terror and showcases more of Leebs brilliance. They might sound very basic and the vocal treatment is shoddy at best. Then one has to remind oneself that the band was working with very primitive equipment and recorded these tracks with a 8 track recording system which is a far cry from the equipement that they had available for such recording as TNI, Epitaph, and Millenium.

Industrial / Gothic Metal | Label : Hell Of Sermon

Hall of Sermon is happy to announce the all new album from Tilo Wolff [LACRIMOSA]’s Industrial / electro sideproject, the first new sign of life of SNAKESKIN exactly 10 years after the release of the previous album “Canta’tronic.” “Tunes for my Santiméa” features vocals by Tilo Wolff with female singers Kerstin Doelle (who was already present on “Canta’tronic”) and the new entry Carina Boehmer! 10 new songs of uncompromising electro, melting with classical arrangements, a flavour of pop and a tremendous amount of anger and emotions! Although this release is closer to the style of LACRIMOSA, than the two previous albums, also this third album is very ‘industrial’ influenced and faithful to the project’s unique style. With three singers the range of the project’s sound is wider than ever before! Tilo is currently putting the final touches on a high quality video clip, produced in Los Angeles with crewmembers of Steven Soderbergh (“Ocean’s Eleven,” “Magic Mike”…).

When one listens to this record one has to realize that these recordings were constructed on a 8 track recording system which is quite primitive by todays standards so the sound is not as good as on the later recordings, i.e., TNI. When one considers this then one realizes that Leeb and Fulber truly are talented muisicians since the sound is remarkable considering their limited budget and their shoddy equipment.

[[quote]This album purports to be an attempt at recursion by the creator of The X-Files, Chris Carter – songs inspired by the show that he hopes will provide further inspiration for the show (just as Nick Cave's "Red Right Hand" did for the "Ascension" episode.) Contributions here include Mark Snow, with the title music, the Foo Fighters with a grand rendition of Gary Numan's "Down in the Park" (Numan's songs would fit this show perfectly), Sheryl Crow, Frank Black, Filter (who abandon their roaring faux-NIN sound for moody acoustic guitars), Meat Puppets, Elvis Costello with Brian Eno and even Screamin' Jay Hawkins. While not perfect, the album makes a nice alternative compilation, one that has that blue-light glow of twisted mystery X-ficianados have come to enjoy.

Many people would say that this cd (as well as the earlier ones) are just for die-hard fans. I understand it, but think otherwise. I would advise this cd to all people who like electronic music and would like what can be done with a relatively limited equipment.

Front Line Assembly's second album (the second of three released in three months in late '87 and early '88) shows the prolific Vancouver-based duo at the peak of their early style, which is basically that of a Canadian Cabaret Voltaire. Less aggressive and sample-based than their compatriots Skinny Puppy (which songwriter Bill Leeb used to be a member of; the Pup's Dave Ogilvie co-produced State of Mind), Front Line Assembly married doomy electronic keyboards and percussion to a live-sounding bass and drum whomp, creating a more purely dance-oriented sound.
