Well what can I say regarding such a remarkable step of Jon Anderson brilliant career?!!..As in the recent times his illness brought about a certain strength in his composition, thanks to his strong reaction to his unlucky fate (also in his recent 2011 American Tour, where his performance on stage has been improving all his successful concerts in America and Mexico for a few months), now I like to point out that He's been able to put a great quality into the present new composition, by considering this "Survival…" in its essence.

In his Sussex, England, recording studio, Expandibubble, Thornton continues to explore new limits of sequenced electronic music (Alien Encounter) and the insights of tribal and ethnic cultures (Shaman).

Constance Demby is one of the few representatives of the New Age movement (in both her music and her personal philosophies) who consistently creates artistic, highly expressive compositions. Demby was trained in classical music as a child, and her artistic spirit led her to also master several other art forms; at the University of Michigan, she studied painting, sculpture, and music. It was her work as a sculptor that led her to new dimensions of sound. As she was torching a sheet of metal, it roared thunderously, and thus was born the Sonic Steel Instruments: the Whale Sail, and the Space Bass, enormous bowed instruments with deep archetypal resonances.

Ronan Hardiman established himself as a composer through his score for Michael Flatley's dance extravaganza Lord of the Dance. The soundtrack to the production was a rousing success, giving Hardiman the opportunity to record his first solo album, Solas. Like Lord of the Dance, Solas has its foundation in Celtic music, but it sounds more like worldbeat-influenced new age artists like Enya and Enigma. In other words, it relies on sounds more than songs, but sometimes sounds are enough for a good album. That's not necessarily the case here, since the music meanders a bit, but the best moments on the album are as enchanting as those on Lord of the Dance.

From the very first cut here, "The Lover of Beirut", Brahem's fascinating blend of traditional Eastern-flavored tonalities and his very jazz-like sense of free rhythms mix, in an astonishingly instinctual and intimate way, with Gesing's moody clarinet, their melodic lines at times doubling before breaking free to bend and swerve off into a melodic maze before slowly returning to their intricate Byzantine dance.

MP3 CBR 320kbps | Tracks: 3 | 50:29 min | 117 Mb
Style: New Age, Ambient, World | Label: New World Music

Synthesizer composer Phil Thornton reaches into arcane times for this intensely colorful shamanic ceremony in sound. Keyboardist Thornton also plays many acoustic instruments-recorder, chicken flute, beapod and rainstick, and bamboo pipe–and incorporates that most primitive of instruments, the didgeridoo (Darren Green), and the frightening sounds of the Tibetan thigh bone (Mike Rogers). David Roberts keeps the all-important beat going. The album opens with a frenzied tribal circle dance, "The Healing Circle."
