Mick Abrahams - Black Night Is Falling Live (2005)

Of course Mick made his name with Jethro Tull before being asked to leave. Tull lost their blues edge but his subsequent venture with Blodwyn Pig bore excellent fruit in 2 great studio albums. For 20 years Mick has been a stalwart on the european blues circuit and he never fails to deliver. On this set, filmed at the Bishop Stortford Blues Club, we are treated to acoustic and electric sets featuring his best loved material. Sound and picture quality are crisp, clear and detailed and Mick plays superbly on a fine range of guitars in a relaxed and intimate setting. Added bonus is a chat between Mick and Jet Martin Celmins (best known for his biography of Peter Green) in which Mick, as ever comes across as a thoroughly engaging bloke. Excellent stuff. ~Amazon
