"Mariah Carey" is the self-titled debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey. Five singles were released from the album, four of which became number-one hits on the Hot 100. "Mariah Carey" was certified nine-times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting shipments of nine million copies in the United States.

Linda Ronstadt was America's sweetheart of the '70s, because she was able to combine a pretty face, a pretty voice and a safe personality. Her songs might be full of big notes and high emotions, but they satisfied every predictable expectation of a love ballad or good-time rocker. Mariah Carey is America's sweetheart of the '90s for the exact same reasons. "Music Box", her third album, topped the Billboard album charts, yielding number-one singles like "Dreamlover" and "Hero".

Vocal gymnastics and Christmas songs are not often thought of as a compatible combination, but on "Merry Christmas", Mariah Carey jumps, climbs, crawls, twirls, and dashes her way through both traditional fare and original Christmas songs. She shifts through styles, offering fans from all musical camps a gift of their own. There is even a "Joy to the World" medley mixing the old and the new: the traditional Christmas song and the Three Dog Night hit. And, as usual, her gospel-voiced background singers are out in full force. There are two ways to enjoy this album. One is to sit back and revel in Carey's vocal fireworks, and the other is to pour yourself a glass of eggnog, get cozy by the tree, and have yourself a Merry Christmas.

VH1 Divas Live brings VH1's original 1998 gathering of superstar songbirds to SACD. Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, and Shania Twain perform some of their biggest hits, including Carey's "My All", Twain's "You're Still the One", Dion's "My Heart Will Go On", and Estefan's "Turn the Beat Around". All five divas share the spotlight – to the extent that a diva can share the spotlight – on the set's finale, "Natural Woman" and "Testimony". A worthwhile set for those who want to see as well as hear their VH1 Divas Live album, the disc offers little in the way of additional features but remains a faithful translation of the special TV concert.

Protest as she may – and she does, claiming in the liner notes that #1's is "not a greatest hits album! It's too soon, I haven't been recording long enough for that!" – it's hard to view #1's, Mariah Carey's first compilation, as anything other than a greatest-hits album…

"Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse" is singer songwriter Mariah Carey's fourteenth studio album. The album title originally called "The Art of Letting Go", is based upon a self-portrait Carey drew when she was a child. It is supposed to symbolize how she saw herself, with the purity of a child's heart before it was ever broken. Me. I Am Mariah features artists Nas, Miguel, Wale and Fabulous, as well as Mariah's twins Morroccan and Monroe. This deluxe version also features appearances by Mary J. Blige and R. Kelly performing songs from Carey's previous album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. The album produced three singles, including "Beautiful", "The Art of Letting Go" and "You're Mine (Eternal)".
