Cæcilie Norby is one of the best living danish jazz singers - 11 nominations for 'Danish Vocal Jazz Album of the Year'. In "Arabesque", she returns to her classical roots. She wrote both the music (some of it together with her husband, bassist Lars Danielsson who is also the producer of her albums) and the texts for most of the 15 tracks of the album, based on classical themes by Ravel, Faure, Satie, Rimsky-Korsakov, Debussy in addition to some tracks composed by Michel Legrand , one Abbey Lincoln song (Wholly Earth) and one composition by her father.

Flutist Magnus Lindgren leads a venerable group of musicians on Stockholm Underground, an homage to Herbie Mann's 1969 release Memphis Underground. Featuring leading artists from the Stockholm jazz scene such as guitarist Henrik Janson, bassist Lars Danielsson and drummer Per Lindvall, this is a sweet, funky tribute that puts a Scandinavian spin on a collection of soul and rock classics. The special guests are Eric Bibb, Till Brönner and Ida Sand.

Swedish bassist, cellist and composer Lars Danielsson and his special guests create a broad sound world, using the sonic capabilities of a symphony orchestra to great effect. For Lars Danielsson, a consummate craftsman of sound on both cello and bass, the power of music resides in melody. It is the heart from which everything else develops and his Liberetto ensemble has stayed true to this principle again on its third album. The word liberetto, which Danielsson coined for the name of the group, also serves well as a descriptor of his art, a reference both to Western music, the source of his compositions, and to their lyrical, vocal character. But also hidden in the band's name is the Latin adjective liber ("free"). That stands for improvisation, for how individuals can take lines and shapes and adapt them, but above all it refers to Danielsson's musical understanding which acknowledges no boundaries.

In our time and age, a jazz singer from Korea may still seem like an exotic concept. But anyone who knows how much effort Asian countries invest in education and promotion also knows about the growing circle of jazz fans in the region. So with notable exceptions it’s astounding that there aren’t more artists from Korea or Japan whose names are on everyone’s lips. However, Youn Sun Nah could change all that, and as the first Korean artist exclusively under contract with ACT, anyone listening to her debut album "Voyage" will understand why.

On "Silent Ways", Danish vocalist Caecilie Norby interprets her favourite singer/songwriter melodies, from Bob Dylan to Paul Simon, CCR to Soundgarden, charging them up with classical and jazz influences. The almost chamber musical, tranquil form hinted at by the album's title is classical, as is the emotional expressiveness of her interpretations. The jazzy approach lies in her singing technique, in the arrangements and the hand-picked musicians in the band improvising magically together.

Known for her unparalleled vocal prowess and heartfelt interpretations, Juul embarks on a musical journey that combines timeless American classics, modern compositions, and her own original songs. For this captivating endeavor, she collaborates with the renowned American guitarist Mike Moreno and the multi-talented Lars Danielsson, both of whom also graced Juul’s EP “New York – Copenhagen” in 2020.

Polish pianist Leszek Możdżer, a longtime star in his home country, spreads his fame worldwide with Polska, recorded with musical soulmates Lars Danielsson, one of the best jazz bassists in the world and Israeli percussionist Zohar Fresco. The sound on Polska is as much a product of these two musicians as creative mastermind Możdżer himself. Polska's grand finale is a version of Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?" featuring the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Mette Juul released New York – Copenhagen march 6th 2020. A follow-up to Change from 2019. The new release New York – Copenhagen was recorded in the same period as Change and captures the difference between the pulsating, vibrant energy of New York and the Nordic simplicity and warmth. Bridging these cultural poles was inspiring to Mette Juul.

Laura Marti's new album "Africa - Tribute to Lars Danielsson" is a beautiful homage to the legendary European jazz musician. Recorded in Germany's Bauer Studios during the intense conflict in Ukraine, the album is a testament to the importance of supporting Ukrainian music in European cultural life. The album features 9 tracks, including 8 of Danielsson's well-known compositions and a special track written by him for the project, called "For Laura," in which he also participated.

Arve Henriksen is a classically trained musician whose ethereal, Japanese-influenced trumpet playing has literally placed him in a league of his own. He was born in Stranda, Norway, and educated at the Trondheim Conservatory. His interest in minimalist Japanese music went on to have a profound effect on his trumpet playing and his music career. Henriksen went on to collaborate with numerous musicians on avant-garde, minimalist, and Eastern-influenced music, working with artists such as Anders Jormin, Edward Vesala, and the Source, before striking out on his own with 2001's Sakuteiki. He is also the trumpter of the improvisational jazz terror group Supersilent.

'Never change a winning team' – The old sporting wisdom can also be applied to music: When soul mates and perfectly matched musicians find one another, they are well advised to stick together. 'Liberetto II' by the exceptional Swedish bassist and cellist Lars Danielsson is the living proof. Three years ago he found a quartet with the former e.s.t. drummer Magnus Öström, the British guitarist John Paricelli and most of all as a new dream team duo with Armenian pianist Tigran. It interpreted his compositions and realised his musical ideas more precisely than probably any ensemble before it.

Swedish bassist/cellist Lars Danielsson is a master improviser, who completely engages listeners by taking them on journeys of both pleasure and wonder, with themes which are always expressive and song-like. He is far too classy and refined a musician to indulge in superficial virtuosic display. Danielsson's well-honed, naturally lyrical improvisational lines remain at the service of the flow of the music, something particularly noticeable when he steps forward and takes on the role of soloist. These core traits are also there in his extensive and much-praised work as arranger, composer and bandleader.

Often compared to Diana Krall and Norah Jones, award-winning Korean singer Youn Sun Nah displays her unique qualities on Lento as she blends different cultural and musical sources in a respectful yet unconventional manner. Besides jazz and related styles, she draws on chanson, pop and folk music. In addition to original compositions by her and her band members, there is a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song ("Hurt") and "Ghost Riders in the Sky", a classic country song made famous by Johnny Cash. And, for the first time, Nah explores European classical music: Alexander Scriabin’s 5 Preludes, Op. 16 was a source of inspiration for the album’s title and it also sets up an intimate, atmospheric and harmonious musical world.
