"Thriller" by Michael Jackson is not only extremely award-winning as a single: the album of the same name has won eight Grammy trophies and sold 66 million units, making it the most successful album of all time since its release in 1982. In February 2017, the longplayer was also awarded a 33-time Diamond Award in the USA.

Mastered from the original analog master tapes, pressed at RTI and limited to 40,000 numbered copies, the UltraDisc One-Step 180g 33rpm LP set by Mobile Fidelity for “Thriller" does what Jackson's unforgettable performance in the “Motown 25” television special in 1983 was for his career: it makes the music personal, human, desirable, comprehensible– imaginative - the Definition of cool. This extraordinary reissue does this by presenting the songs in a lifelike way, focusing on the essentials with laser focus and highlighting the brilliance of the production, the arrangements and the vocals in a way that makes every “thriller” experience as if he were listening to the album for the first time.

The 180g LP set from Mobile Fidelity surpasses the sound of previous re-releases and pressings, removes previous restrictions and offers a clear, dynamic view of a milestone that broke through all conceivable barriers and permanently changed music, culture and society. The vastness and depth of the soundstage, the richness of detail, the percussive textures, the air around the voices and the natural fading of the notes come across with demonstrative realism.
