Marilyn Scott takes her love for jazz to new heights on Every Time We Say Goodbye, with a seasoned East Coast quintet led by acclaimed pianist Cyrus Chestnut. The 10-song repertoire is comprised of smoky, wee-hours standards such as the Cole Porter-penned title track, a Rio-kissed samba take on Irving Berlin's "I Got Lost in His Arms", and a blues walk through "Detour Ahead". The arrangements offer fresh nuances to familiar favorites as do Marilyn's artful and articulate vocal interpretations.

The lyrics of Yevtuschenko at the time of the premiere were forced to use a revised version when recording to Melodia later, so the performance with the original lyrics used here is even more valuable. Kondrashin's strong assertion and a kind of unique tension have been consistently maintained from the beginning, which begins with a heavy weight, and it is an amazing performance that grabs the listener's heart. This release features the new mastering from the original analog master.

Marshall Crenshaw is the debut studio album by American musician Marshall Crenshaw. It features his breakthrough hit, "Someday, Someway", which reached No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1982, as well as No. 31 on the Cash Box singles chart. John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie (/ɡɪˈlɛspi/; October 21, 1917 – January 6, 1993) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator and singer. He was a trumpet virtuoso and improviser, building on the virtuosic style of Roy Eldridge but adding layers of harmonic and rhythmic complexity previously unheard in jazz.

The six Cello Suites, BWV 1007–1012, are suites for unaccompanied cello by Johann Sebastian Bach. They are some of the most frequently performed solo compositions ever written for cello. Bach most likely composed them during the period 1717–1723, when he served as Kapellmeister in Köthen. The title given on the cover of the Anna Magdalena Bach manuscript was Suites à Violoncello Solo senza Basso (Suites for cello solo without bass).

I had never in my entire career sung other peoples lyrics or written music to lyrics, so this would now be the first time.

Recording ‘Cornerstones – Chamber Music Masterpieces’ has been a labour of love, allowing me to revisit music I first encountered in my student days. Written between 1899 and 1957, these works are not simply trumpet pieces with piano accompaniment, but rather chamber music masterpieces, requiring a true collaboration between trumpeter and pianist. Luisa’s enthusiasm for these cornerstones of any trumpet player’s repertoire has been inspiring, and indeed deepened my understanding of, and appreciation for, this music I have known and loved for so long.

ZILT originated in a whiskey bar on Zeedijk, Amsterdam. Here tenor saxophonist Jasper Blom and trumpeter Ian Cleaver, teacher and student respectively, dedicated themselves every week to compositions by Misha Mengelberg, and by Duke Ellington: jazz legends from different eras and with a similarly open and playful character. ZILT interweaves their compositions through improvising. At this concert, ZILT will present a new album on Just Listen Records.

Although the originality of Georgi Catoire's musical language paved the way for Russian modernism, his output still followed the artistic ideals of Russia and not the new culture of the Soviet Republic. His highly expressive work is characterised by polyphonic density, heightened expressiveness, variety of colour, and a wide rhythmic and harmonic mix. Catoire's music was rarely performed in his day, his name being largely unknown. He left behind 36 works, including symphonic pieces, a piano concerto, chamber music, songs and piano cycles. This music was written in the fin de siècle style, which combined brilliance and nobility with fragility.

The second quintet of Miles Davis was one of the most innovative Ensembles in the history of Jazz. With pianist Herbie Hancock, saxophonist Wayne Shorter, double bassist Ron Carter and drummer Tony Williams, the trumpeter recorded seven important albums between 1965 and 1968: E. S. P., Miles Smiles, Sorcerer, Nefertiti, Miles in the Sky, Filles de Kilimanjaro and Water Babies.

Back to Brooklyn is the eighth live album by Barbra Streisand, which was released in the US on November 25, 2013. The album was recorded over two nights in October 2012 during the Barbra: Live tour stop, held at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
