Handbook of Combinatorial Optimization: Volume1–3 by Ding-Zhu Du
English | PDF | 1998 | 2410 Pages | ISBN : 0792350197 | 217.7 MB

Combinatorial (or discrete) optimization is one of the most active fields in the interface of operations research, computer science, and applied math ematics. Combinatorial optimization problems arise in various applications, including communications network design, VLSI design, machine vision, air line crew scheduling, corporate planning, computer-aided design and man ufacturing, database query design, cellular telephone frequency assignment, constraint directed reasoning, and computational biology. Furthermore, combinatorial optimization problems occur in many diverse areas such as linear and integer programming, graph theory, artificial intelligence, and number theory.

Operational Amplifiers Theory and Design

Operational Amplifiers Theory and Design by Johan Huijsing
English | PDF | 2001 | 474 Pages | ISBN : 1441948759 | 29.1 MB

Operational Amplifiers - Theory and Design is the first book to present a systematic circuit design of operational amplifiers. Containing state-of-the-art material as well as the essentials, the book is written to appeal to both the experienced practitioner and the less initiated circuit designer. It is shown that the topology of all operational amplifiers can be divided into nine main overall configurations. These configurations range from one gain stage up to four or more gain stages. Many famous designs are evaluated in depth.

Coordination of Distributed Problem Solvers by Edmund H. Durfee
English | PDF | 1988 | 278 Pages | ISBN : 089838284X | 29.4 MB

As artificial intelligence (AI) is applied to more complex problems and a wider set of applications, the ability to take advantage of the computational power of distributed and parallel hardware architectures and to match these architec tures with the inherent distributed aspects of applications (spatial, functional, or temporal) has become an important research issue. Out of these research concerns, an AI subdiscipline called distributed problem solving has emerged. Distributed problem-solving systems are broadly defined as loosely-coupled, distributed networks of semi-autonomous problem-solving agents that perform sophisticated problem solving and cooperatively interact to solve problems. N odes operate asynchronously and in parallel with limited internode commu nication. Limited internode communication stems from either inherent band width limitations of the communication medium or from the high computa tional cost of packaging and assimilating information to be sent and received among agents. Structuring network problem solving to deal with consequences oflimited communication-the lack of a global view and the possibility that the individual agents may not have all the information necessary to accurately and completely solve their subproblems-is one of the major focuses of distributed problem-solving research. It is this focus that also is one of the important dis tinguishing characteristics of distributed problem-solving research that sets it apart from previous research in AI.

Mechanics of Material Forces

Mechanics of Material Forces by Paul Steinmann, Gérard A. Maugin
English | PDF (True) | 2005 | 331 Pages | ISBN : 0387262601 | 13.6 MB

The notion dealt with in this volume of proceedings is often traced back to the late 19th-century writings of a rather obscure scientist, C. V. Burton. A probable reason for this is that the painstaking de ciphering of this author's paper in the Philosophical Magazine (Vol. 33, pp. 191-204, 1891) seems to reveal a notion that was introduced in math ematical form much later, that of local structural rearrangement. This notion obviously takes place on the material manifold of modern con tinuum mechanics.

Basics of Aerothermodynamics by E. H. Hirschel
English | PDF (True) | 2005 | 419 Pages | ISBN : 3642060501 | 19.9 MB

The last two decades have brought two important developments for aeroth- modynamics. One is that airbreathing hypersonic flight became the topic of technology programmes and extended system studies. The other is the emergence and maturing of the discrete numerical methods of aerodyn- ics/aerothermodynamics complementary to the ground-simulation facilities, with the parallel enormous growth of computer power. Airbreathing hypersonic flight vehicles are, in contrast to aeroassisted re-entry vehicles, drag sensitive.

VLSI Specification, Verification and Synthesis

VLSI Specification, Verification and Synthesis by Graham Birtwistle, P. A. Subrahmanyam
English | PDF | 1988 | 405 Pages | ISBN : 1461291976 | 32.1 MB

VLSI Specification, Verification and Synthesis Proceedings of a workshop held in Calgary from 12-16 January 1987. The collection of papers in this book represents some of the discussions and presentations at a workshop on hardware verification held in Calgary, January 12-16 1987. The thrust of the workshop was to give the floor to a few leading researchers involved in the use of formal approaches to VLSI design, and provide them ample time to develop not only their latest ideas but also the evolution of these ideas. In contrast to simulation, where the objective is to assist in detecting errors in system behavior in the case of some selected inputs, the intent of hardware verification is to formally prove that a chip design meets a specification of its intended behavior (for all acceptable inputs). There are several important applications where formal verification of designs may be argued to be cost-effective. Examples include hardware components used in "safety critical" applications such as flight control, industrial plants, and medical life-support systems (such as pacemakers).

English | PDF | 2018 | 250 Pages | ISBN : 3662541866 | 10.6 MB

Focusing on the theory and techniques of digital design and manufacturing for turbine blade investment casting, this book systematically summarizes the advances in applications in this field. It describes advanced digital design theory and methods and provides practical technical references for investment casting die design and manufacturing. The theories, methods and cases presented here are largely derived from the author’s practical engineering experience and the research he and his team have carried out since the 1990s. It includes academic papers, technical reports and patent literature, and provides a valuable guide to engineers involved in the die-design process.
