Mono- and Multivariable Control and Estimation: Linear, Quadratic and LMI Methods

Mono- and Multivariable Control and Estimation: Linear, Quadratic and LMI Methods by Eric Ostertag
English | PDF | 2011 | 359 Pages | ISBN : 3642137334 | 4.7 MB

This book presents the various design methods of a state-feedback control law and of an observer. The considered systems are of continuous-time and of discrete-time nature, monovariable or multivariable, the last ones being of main consideration. Three different approaches are described: • Linear design methods, with an emphasis on decoupling strategies, and a general formula for multivariable controller or observer design; • Quadratic optimization methods: Linear Quadratic Control (LQC), optimal Kalman filtering, Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control; • Linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) to solve linear and quadratic problems. The duality between control and observation is taken to advantage and extended up to the mathematical domain.

This book gives a detailed analysis of various on-chip communication architectures and covers different areas of network-on-chip (NoC)s such as potentials, architecture, technical challenges, optimization, design explorations, and research directions. It discusses current and future trends that could make an impactful and meaningful contribution to the research and design of on-chip communications and NoC systems.

Discrete-Time Control System Design with Applications

Discrete-Time Control System Design with Applications by C.A. Rabbath
English | PDF | 2014 | 181 Pages | ISBN : 1461492890 | 8 MB

This book presents practical techniques of discrete-time control system design. In general, the design techniques lead to low-order dynamic compensators that ensure satisfactory closed-loop performance for a wide range of sampling rates. The theory is given in the form of theorems, lemmas, and propositions. The design of the control systems is presented as step-by-step procedures and algorithms. The proposed feedback control schemes are applied to well-known dynamic system models.
