Vania, de Vania Zouravliov
Gestalten, 2010 | English | CBR | 147 pages | 1.22 GB

Vania Zouravliov is a London-based illustrator of Russian origin, in whose work we find a mixture of innocence, sexuality, beauty and decadence, all wrapped up in a great deal of symbolism and intricate detail. His dark motifs with erotic scenes are both sensual and provocative. Vania works drawing from beginning to end, without sketches, and although on a first visit to his work we found an absence of color and a Gothic environment, in his most recent works (as can be seen in his work exhibited at bigactive), this it already acquires a close-up, slipping at the same time towards a more contemporary universe.

Guido Crepax - La lanterne magique
Editions Jacques Glenat, 1980 | French | CBR | 110 pages | 154 MB

Peep-Machine Pin-Ups: 1940s-1950s Mutoscope Art
Schiffer Publishing, 2006 | English | CBR | 66 pages | 24.8 MB

Machines called Mutoscopes offered quick shows for a penny from 1895 until as late as the 1970s, flipping cards to create the impression of a moving picture. Associated with amusement piers and parks, and men's restrooms, these machines were notorious as proprietors of cheap peeps. During the 1940s, the International Mutoscope Reel Company began to manufacture coin-operated vending machines that served up 5-1/4 x 3-1/4cards for collectors, usually of pin-up material.

#hardcover is a crazy project launched on Kickstarter. On the initiative of Spiridon Giannakis, you will discover that the project was not easy to manage, thanks to our dear Kickstarter… but no spoil!
The only word given to the artists was : No Limits ! (okay, two words). So be warned: this book isn’t for cold foot… Hang on ’cause it’s gonna be Rock’n Roll!
