Jon Lord (& the Hoochie Coochie Men) - Live @ The Basement - 2003

After the suggestion by Nagiants39 (for Presidente), here is a fine example of an old keyboard player who, although releasing solo material with a classical flavor all these years, still enjoys a decent blues - rock all-night session with a competent group of Aussies.

Rec. Down/under in 2003, these are MP3s / Lame / CBR / 192 kbps

Paul Butterfield Blues Band - Driftin' Blues VIDEO - Monterey '67

Posted By: akas

Duration 4.50 min, DivX encoded avi/160 kbps audio

One on their greatest performances ever captured on film, and it was not on the original Monterey Pop Fest release, but then the director (Pennebaker) authorized a complete Monterey in '97 (30 years later!!!) and now we have it in the Outtakes...

Roy Buchanan, My Babe (1980)

Roy Buchanan, My Babe (1980) | MP3 256 Kbps | 69 MB

This was downloaded some time ago ... According to the Tags, it's a vinyl rip (albeit a nice sounding & well preserved LP). Not included in "my-personal-favorites" list, but then some of the more guitar-oriented among you might find a couple of interesting riffs in here (it's either that Roy's tone and volume is "lower", or maybe the new singer is covering the guitar with his howling ;-)).

Judging from the response, you seem to like the ol' boy. No point in stopping now, then !!! I have quite a few CDs, and although there's been a recent "flood" in blues newsgroups with mainly his latest stuff (Alligator, etc) I'd rather upload his earlier recordings - personal favorites. Stay tuned, First & Second album coming next...

Roy Buchanan LIVE in JAPAN (1977) Mp3 (Lame, 160 CBR)

Posted By: akas

Years ago, when I first heard of Roy Buchanan, it was from a chewed-up tape, a "collection" (analog warez?? ;-)) recorded from a friend's tapes & vinyl stuff... For years I searched for that exact rendition of "Hey, Joe" that had left me ecstatic, but the album was extremely rare and only recently, in 2004, I bought an (official) CD reissue of the '77 Buchanan classic "Live in Japan" - the original was from Polydor, Japan !!! Following lowcostmusic's excellent post of Live Stock http://avaxhome.ws/music/2005/12/31/roy_buchanan/ here are some of the late guitarist's finest moments EVER recorded in Mp3 (Lame, CBR, 160 kbps)

BATMAN - Arkham Asylum

Posted By: akas

Following erdem170's post of Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS (http://avaxhome.ws/magazines/2005/12/24/batman_the_dark_knight_returns/#full ), this is on par with the best comix ever put to paper. Dark & at points...well, INSANE mr.Morrison's take on the Batman saga is widely considered to be on a genre of its own, a "Graphic Novel" light years away from contemporary comics and at the same time using familiar characters to tell a different story (or, more precisely, take a look at the saga from an alltogether different point of view). 'Nuff said !!!!!
File is one big .cbr (~60 MB) in two parts - also included the free viewer (CDisplay ver.1.8, don't know if it's the latest but'll do the job nicely)
