Fiberoptical intubation is one of the standard procedures used for the management of expected or known difficult airways. Using this procedure, the airways can be safeguarded in the waking state where additional mucosal anesthesia is given to conscious analgosedated patients, or operations can be carried out if conditions suffice for mask ventilation on anesthetized patients under apnea or mask ventilation with the assistance of Mainz adapter.
