The writers of the Disney made several adjustments to the original story to fit better with the animation style and needs. The plot, in fact, often deviates from the novel by Collodi (the shark becomes a whale that swallows Pinocchio, for example). This option will initially cost him some criticism, especially in Italy, home of the puppet. From the technical point of view, is the animated film Pinocchio Disney's most complex, shot with mixed animation techniques. Cost to Walt Disney at the time, the considerable sum of $ 2.3 million. At least initially, however, the film did not have much luck as the previous film, and was recovered only half the budget. Only through subsequent editions (1945, 1954, 1962, 1971, 1978, 1984 and 1992) Pinocchio was revalued and had a great success, so much so that today the average American considers a fairy tale Pinocchio American knows nothing of his Italian origins . Many media fortune, often cited, had the idea of the extension of the nose in case of lies. A similar chance was the song of the film carrier (When you wish upon a star), who won an Oscar in 1941 and has been interpreted in the Italian dubbing of 1947 by Riccardo Billi, then from the edition of 1994, having completely restored the antique Italian column, it was decided to revert to version by Riccardo Billi. The song was also played by Louis Armstrong, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and Barbara Hendricks.

Italiano
