A Dirty Carnival (2006)

Il ventinovenne Byung-Doo è un criminale di basso rango, a malapena in grado di prendersi cura della madre malata, dei fratelli più piccoli e dei membri della banda che lavorano alle sue dipendenze. Nel tentativo di cambiare la sua posizione, Byung-Doo si offre volontario per aiutare il boss Hwang messo alle strette da un procuratore corrotto. A complicare la vita di Byung-Doo però arrivano due incontri inaspettati: il primo è con un amico regista che ha intenzione di esordire con un film sulla malavita e il secondo è con una ragazza che disapprova del tutto il suo stile di vita da gangster.

Storyline
Byung-du is a 29-year-old career criminal, working for the middle-rank enforcer Sang-chul. Burdened with a terminally ill mother and taking care of younger siblings, Byung-du is feeling financial pressure as a substitute patriarch. When the big boss President Hwang is cornered by a corrupt prosecutor, Byung-du volunteers for a whack job and wins the big man's trust. However, his real trouble begins when friend Min-ho, an aspiring movie director, asks him to be a consultant for the latter's debut film.
