Shy 14-year-old Duncan goes on summer vacation with his mother, her overbearing boyfriend, and her boyfriend's daughter. Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen, manager of the Water Wizz water park.
This film will not get the attention it deserves this summer but that does mean you should skip seeing it. Steve Carell often scares movie goers off, because they don't like his type of comedy. Trust me when I say that this is a brilliant yet subtle Carell film, where he isn't the main star and he is not a comic relief. The real joy for me about this movie is that it isn't solely carried by a single performance. Each character throughout this film made me smile at one point. I will give a special mention to Sam Rockwell because he was absolutely brilliant throughout this film. Bottom line, the writing, directing, acting and character development make this one of the best films of the summer.IMDB Reviewer
