It is one year since nuclear war rolled over the world. Humanity has forgotten who won the war. The 850 survivors have herded together atop the arctic circle. There, underneath an insulated dome, they have succumbed to a group psychosis, clinging to the hope that a vessel called "The Ark" is en route to rescue them from their hell.

Meanwhile, a subtle class system develops based around silver coins called "Arks," and those without die from malnutrition and exposure. As the protective dome begins to erode, morals and ethics follow suit, and the architect of "The Ark Myth" is forced to confront his hoax head on.

The obvious highlight of Szulkin's apocalypse quartet, O-Bi, O-Ba is a vision of pure and total apocalypse unfettered by ornamental sentimentality.

I saw this movie in Hungary a long time ago, and it immediately became one of my all-time favorites, sharing this distinguished title with Tarantino's & Spielberg's films. (I haven't been successful in locating a dubbed or captioned English version so far. English language support would greatly increase the chances of this masterpiece for being recognized across the world.)

The movie is totally grotesque, and often shocking, spiced up with the perfect amount of cynicism & delicate humor. It is the ultimate depressing negative utopia; much superior in every sense to most flicks spewed up by Hollywood in the same genre.

The world after the nuclear apolkalipsisa, from the position of a single country, not many survivors live in a bunker, is everyone going crazy in their own way. people were fed porridge from recycled pulp books and biscuits groundless hope, remains the top brass playing soldiers, intellectuals or giggling hysterically, or pathetically pushes speech, full of disappointment in people. Someone trades silverware, someone barks for food, some maniacs surround themselves with geese and puppies, in an attempt to literally follow the Biblical parable of the ark - and the hero goes and looks at the effects of famine, war, disease, and death.

Software has a tired look and extinct, but he is doing good in the local post-hells of the universe, good Samaritan distributing scarce sprats. He already gave up trying to explain that no one is around to help - people are so disgusted with the reality that they are willing to believe any nonsense that will be fine line separates them from their own fears and grim inevitability.
