IMDB
IMDB Rating: 6.9/10
Directed by: Svatopluk Innemann
Starring: Jan W. Speerger, Vlasta Burian, Anny Ondra
Storyline: A crazy slapstick comedy about the factory owner Mr Pardon and his uncle Mr Monday who swap their identities and invent incredible stories to escape marriage and be with their beloveds. Starring one of Alfred Hitchock's muses Anny Ondra and the King of Czech Comedians, Vlasta Burian, this silent movie excels for its original slapstick, especially the lange of invented murders, chases, and doppelgenger scenes. The movie has been out of circulation for decades, with the last screenings of the original combustible copy held at Prague's Ponrepo theater (affiliated to the National Film Archive) in the 1960s. This reconstructed version of the film is accompanied by a specially composed score by Czech trio Neuveritelno.
