A youngster looking to make his mark in the world comes up with a grand scheme with the help of his friends in this family-friendly comedy-drama. Billy Kirkfield (Bobby Coleman) is a ten-year-old boy living in a snowbound town who has already known his share of drama in life, as he's recovering from a bout with cancer. Billy's dad Reggie (Ray Liotta) is a flashy used car salesman with a history of stretching the truth, so when he parents tell him his cancer is in remission, Billy is not inclined to believe them. Certain he isn't long for this life, Billy is determined to do something that will give him a reputation that will live on after he's gone. Billy and his pals Howard (Bobb'e J. Thompson) and Jason (Josh Flitter) get the idea that they should get their names in the Guinness Book of World Records, and come up with just they way to do it – set a new record for making the most snowmen in a single day. Also starring Christopher Lloyd, Doug E. Doug and Beverley Mitchell, Snowmen received its world premiere at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.

The story is of some young boys, friends. Billy played by Bobby Coleman is 10 years old and suffering from cancer, even though the cancer is under control and in remission, he believes he won’t see he 11th birthday and so he and his friends decide to do something that he will always be remembered for.

They decide to attempt a world record, to make the most snowmen in one day and get into the Guinness book of records. This is a great undertaking and they discover many things about themselves and people around them and how to achieve a goal in life. The child actor Bobby Coleman was born in 1997 and yet he has made 18 appearences on both the big screen and on TV. He has appeared in the TV series ‘The Haunting Hour’ (2011), ‘The Last Song’ (2010), ‘Knight Rider’ (TV series) (2009), ‘Family Man’ (TV film) (2008), The Marian Child (2007) to name a few.

Not for everyone – semi sweet semi sad, some brilliant elements… and it all ends gloriously! Great job. Great story. Reminded me – there is life, after life.

Christopher Lloyd who plays a caretaker in the movie is EXCELLENT – and talks to the heroes - - 3 fifth grade boys intent on setting a world record. And he asks them how this setting a record, makes other people…happy? He tells the boys of attending a lot of funerals and that when people talk about living a good life…its not so much what we do or did that matters…as to how we did it. That being a good person may be a purpose all in itself. Being a friend – even to someone who doesn't want to be friends.
