The ABC's OF DEATH is an ambitious anthology film featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children's educational ABC books, the motion picture is comprised of 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and ultimately confrontational; THE ABC's OF DEATH is the definitive snapshot of the diversity of modern horror. Drafthouse Films, Magnet Pictures and Timpson Films are proud to present this alphabetical arsenal of destruction orchestrated by what Fangoria calls "a stunning roll call of some of the most exciting names in horror across the world."

Acting: This is hard to judge because of the international cast doing things that in their own country is considered good while the English speaking market may not like. As far as I'm concerned everyone did a more than acceptable job by any standard. It's also interesting watching other country's style of movies.

Direction: This is the weakest part of this anthology because it varies to a greater degree than anything else. More than half of the shorts were well handled and the rest were a touch iffy but c'mon, 5 grand a shot.

Production: I liked the way this film was knocked together and never felt as though the tiny budget caused major problems with the overall production. I mostly enjoyed the stories and really it was well written. It never looked or felt like a cheap, homemade movie. There are some great special effects, great make-up, the wardrobe was good too. This is a well conceived and well produced film.

Conclusion: I know this won't be to the younger audiences tastes, who'd rather see blood flow more than anything else but while it has very strong violent skits it's more a cerebral collection without any pretentiousness but it's also a film that doesn't take itself too seriously. I loved it. Highly Recommended.
