The last step in the field of motion pictures productions for the digital cinema is the creation of the DCP (Digital Cinema Package). With the software tool easyDCP Creator Fraunhofer IIS offers a easy-to-handle solution for DCP creation. This tool was especially designed for small and medium-sized production companies and post houses in order to get with only a few clicks a complete DCP in HD resolution for distribution to digital cinema screens.
The software runs on a standard-PC or a MAC. Due to additional functionality, the easyDCP Creator+ allows for more effectiveness. The plus version comes with DCI-compliant encryption technology in order to protect the processed content if necessary. The included KDM Generator allows for the generation of Key Delivery Messages (KDM) permitting certain cinemas to show the encrypted DCP. The external JPEG2000 Encoder is used for pre-processing and conversion of images in order to save time during the DCP creation process. Furthermore the scripting ability allows for integration into existing, script-based production workflows.
For a first experience with this software and the DCP creation we offer a free download of a special trial version of easyDCP Creator for a period of 6 months. The trial version burns in a visual watermark into the DCP.
