The Advice are valid for all AppStore OS X versions released as App.

How to create bootable DVD

1 - Klick with right button on the App and apply "Show Package Contents".
2 - Go To Folder: Contents/SharedSupport, there you have the actually DMG File.
3 - Burn the Image on a dual layer DVD (8.5 GB), the single layer (4.7 GB) are too small (you can use e.g Disk Utility to burn it).
4 - After successfully burning you get the ordinary bootable OS X DVD as usual in the past.
5 - Now you can make for example a "clean installation" cause you can start from the DVD.

How to create bootable USB Start Volume (e.g USB Pen, no smaller than 6GB)

1 - Klick with right button on the App and get "Show Package Contents".
2 - Go To Folder: Contents/SharedSupport, there you have the actually DMG File.
3 - Insert your destined USB Device and start "Disk Utility"-Application (findable in "Utilities" Folder by "Applications").
3 - Erase your destined Device in Format "Mac OS Extended" (MAKE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE THERE IMPORTANT DATA, THEY GET KILLED!!!)
4 - Apply now "Restore" (still in Disk Utility Menu): Source is your DMG File (called usually "InstallESD.dmg), Destination is your USB Device.
5 - After successfully Restore you get a bootable USB Start Volume and you can use this in the same wise like a bootable DVD to setup your OS.

General Info
When you like to make "Clean Installation" from your OS so insert your Start Volume (DVD or USB Device).
Shut down your Mac, then Start it and hold the button Alt/Option on your Keyboard to get the "Boot Menu" during the start process.
You have to hold down the button after few seconds after you push Start-Button on your Mac (at the latest when you hear the Start-Sound).
Now you can select your Start Volume and Continue your Setup (usually first you have to apply "Disk Utility" to erase destined Volume for your new OS.
