Apparently this has been in development for a really long time. Supposed to have been used in Monster house and Cloudy with a Chance of meatballs.
Beta testing Arnold for Softimage 2012. Arnold is a physically accurate Brute force rendering engine. Compatible for Maya and Softimage.
It is the most impressive rendering and shader engine I have ever used. Beats Mental Ray, VraySSS2, Lightwave and Modo hands down.
