Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators - Tortured Soul (2013)

From the coattails of the thrilling honour of having the title track of the album “Keep Reachin’ Up”, Timmion Records, included in the re-election Spotify Playlist of USA President Barack Obama, Nicole Willis & the Soul Investigators have been gathering material written over the course of some 4 years to create the long player titled “Tortured Soul”, set for release in Winter 2013. The Soul Investigators return to their original line up from 1998 with musicians Pete Toikkanen on lead guitar, Sami Kantelinen on electric bass, Jukka Sarapää on drums, Antti Määttänen on Hammond organ and Didier Selin on guitar in a collaboration that is it’s own brand of soul food, secret recipe, special sauce, home grown by self-styled musicianship. Singer and songwriter Nicole Willis also returns to the studio with the band after her graduation of Bachelor studies from Lahti Institute of Fine Arts.

“Tortured Soul” will excite with tracks “Tell Me When (We Can Start Our Love Thing Once Again)”, “Moon Walking & Star Gazing” & “Shake A Tail Feather” as well as delving deeply in the “dark” side with tracks “On The East Side” & “It’s All Because Of You”.

The prior album, “Keep Reachin’ Up” is a hard act to follow, with releases of this LP from 2005 till 2007, sparking the attention of audiences in Finland, France, UK, and North America. Music connoisseur Gilles Peterson chose track “Feeling Free” as “Track Of The Year” for the Gilles Peterson’s World Wide Awards 2006. Timmion Records along with other independent labels across the globe, have continued to promote underground culture and establish the renaissance of vinyl collection.

However the collaborators hope to bring revived interest with the LP “Tortured Soul”, promising to confuse, confound & hypnotize, Nicole Willis & the Soul Investigators will be ready to bring the LP “Tortured Soul” to you live, in concert at it’s spawn on Timmion Records in Winter 2013.
