René Touzet, Pianist and composer. Born 1916, Havana. Touzet started studying piano as child. In 1930 he created his own orchestra. He worked as a piano accompanist both in Cuba and abroad. He is the author of such canciones and boleros as "No te importa saber", "Tu felicidad", "Parece mentira", "Cuando tu quieras", "Anoche aprendi", "La noche de anoche", "Estuve pensando", "Me contaron de ti", and "Dejame creer en ti".
En 1961 he went to live in Mexico City. Several years thereafter he met the jazz bandleader Stan Kenton, who invited him to play on his recording of "El Manicero". He later moved to New York, where he continued working as a pianist and composed many new works.
