Skeletonwitch is an American extreme metal band from Athens, Ohio formed in 2003. The band currently consists of drummer Dustin Boltjes, vocalist Chance Garnette, guitarists Nate Garnette and Scott Hedrick and bassist Evan Linger. Skeletonwitch released their third studio album by the name of Breathing The Fire on October 13, 2009 to critical acclaim, with one website describing it as "an excellent release that shows that thrash can incorporate influences and stylistic flourishes from other genres and still retain the energetic aggression for which the genre is so beloved".
