Metallica - 30th Anniversary Show's (2011, 9CD) RE-UPLOADED

- This was the first of four 30th Anniversary celebration gigs at The Fillmore in San Francisco.
- This was the first time in 12 years that The Call of Ktulu has opened a show. The last time it served as an opener was on November 23, 1999 in New York, NY during the S&M gig at Madison Square Garden.
- This was the first time in over 20 years that the full version of No Remorse was performed.
- This was the first time in 19 years that The Shortest Straw was performed in the Bay Area. The last time it was performed in Northern California was on September 24, 1992 at Oakland Coliseum.
- This was the first time in over a year that Leper Messiah was performed. It was last performed on November 21, 2010 in Melbourne, Australia.
- This was the first time in over a year that The Day That Never Comes was performed. It was last performed on November 16, 2010 in Adelaide, Australia.
- This was the live debut of Carpe Diem Baby.
- This was also the live debut of Hate Train… a song that didn't make the cut for Death Magnetic. You can download the studio version of Hate Train as part of the Beyond Magnetic EP on iTunes.
- This was only the third time that the band has performed an acoustic cover of Nazareth's Please Don't Judas Me.
- Metallica brought up a lucky Met Club member named John Dent to jam on Wherever I May Roam.
- John Marshall came out and joined the band on Sad But True. For those that don't know, John filled in for James in 1986 after he broke his wrist skateboarding and after he lit himself on fire in 1992.
- While Apocalyptica set up their gear, Robert Trujillo performed an impromptu jam on Cliff Burton's famous solo (Anesthesia) - Pulling Teeth.
- Apocalyptica provided strings on No Leaf Clover.
- This was the most unique performance of One… the first half was performed by Apocalyptica with James providing vocals and Lars, Kirk and Robert joined in at the "Darkness" bit.
- A man who needs no introduction… Jason Newsted joined the band on Harvester of Sorrow and Damage, Inc.
- This was the first time in 16 years that Jason Newsted played Harvester of Sorrow with Metallica. He last played Harvester on August 26, 1995 in Donington, England.
- This was the first time in 13 years that Jason Newsted played Damage, Inc. with Metallica. He last played the song on May 7, 1998 in Tokyo, Japan
- Biff Byford of Saxon performed a cover of Motorcycle Man with Metallica.
- There was a mini four-song Diamond Head set featuring Sean Harris and Brian Tatler.
- This was the first time in over two years that The Prince was played and only the sixth time the song had been played since 2004.

- This was the first time in 21 years that the full version of Helpless was played.

- After 23 years, this was the live debut of To Live Is To Die.
- "Now that that's out of the way…" This was the earliest that Enter Sandman has been played in the set in quite a long time. June 23, 2000 in Seattle, WA seems to be the last show where Sandman appeared at the top of the set.
- This was the first time in over seven years that Holier Than Thou was played in San Francisco. It was last played in SF on March 8, 2004 at the Cow Palace.
- This was also the first time in seven years that the electric version of Disposable Heroes (not to be confused with the Bridge School '07 version) was performed in the Bay Area. It was last played in NorCal on November 28, 2004 in San Jose, CA.
- This was the first time in eleven years that Bleeding Me was played in the Bay Area. It was last played in NorCal on April 22, 1999 in Berkeley, CA during the S&M shows. This was only the 15th time that the song was played since Robert joined the band.
- This was the first time in 15 years that Wasting My Hate was played in San Francisco. It was last played in SF on December 30, 1996 at the Cow Palace. This was only the second performance of Wasting My Hate since the completion of the Poor Touring Me tour in 1997. It was last performed on October 15, 2004 in Quebec City.
- This was the 37th performance of My Apocalypse since being debuted on March 25, 2009. It is the fourth least played song off of Death Magnetic. The only songs it outranks are The Judas Kiss (by a mere seven performances), The Unforgiven III, and Suicide & Redemption.
- This was the public debut of Just a Bullet Away off of the Beyond Magnetic EP. This song gained a lot of notoriety during the Mission: Metallica days back when it was known by its working title: Shine. You can download the studio recording of Just a Bullet Away on iTunes.
- The boys brought up a MetClubber named Andrew Dowis for a smoking performance of Breadfan.
- Marianne Faithfull joined the band on The Memory Remains. The last time the two performed the song together was on December 6, 1997 during a taping of Saturday Night Live.
- Ray Haller of Sweet Savage sang Killing Time with the band. This was only the 18th performance of the song since it was debuted at Metallica's very first show on March 14, 1982.
- Bob Ritchie, also known as Kid Rock, took the mic for a cover of Detroit-icon Bob Seger's Turn the Page. The Son of Detroit last sang this song with Metallica on July 16, 2000 in Phoenix, AZ.
- Armored Saint's John Bush, the vocalist who the boys chased for years, finally got behind the mic with Metallica for a killer version of The Four Horsemen. This was also the first time in over 25 years that the full version of the song was performed.
- Lou Reed joined Metallica for Iced Honey, The View, and a cover of the Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat.
- Once again, Jason Newsted rejoined his old bandmates for two songs… Creeping Death and Battery.
- Jason last performed Creeping Death and Battery with Metallica on August 9, 2000 in Lexington, KY.
- King Diamond, Hank Shermann, Michael Denner, and Timi Hansen… better known as MERCYFUL FATE… joined Metallica for the deliciously evil Mercyful Fate medley. This was the first time that those four members of Mercyful Fate performed together since 1993. Metallica last played the Fate medley with King Diamond on August 9, 2008 in Dallas, TX. This was only the eighth time Metallica has performed this live.
- A load of guests joined the boys for Seek & Destroy including Jason Newsted, Scott Ian, Ray Haller, John Bush, Joey Vera, Gonzo Sandoval, the Soul Rebels Brass Band, and a random fan.

- This was only the second time that Suicide & Redemption was performed live. It was debuted on July 27, 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
- Did you know that Master of Puppets has been played over 1,375 times?
- This was the first time in over 22 years that …And Justice for All was performed in the Bay Area. It's last Bay performance was on September 15, 1989 in Mountain View, CA.
- This was the first time in over 12 years that Of Wolf & Man was performed in the Bay Area. It was last performed in NorCal on April 22, 1999 during the recording of S&M.
- Fade to Black has been played over 1,000 times! It was debuted on February 9, 1985 in Chicago, IL.
- The Thing That Should Not Be was only played 11 times during the course of the World Magnetic tour. Coincidentally, the last time Thingy was played in SF was on May 22, 2003 at… THE FILLMORE!
- I Disappear was only played five times during the between 2008 and 2011. It was last performed in San Francisco on November 13, 2005 while opening for The Rolling Stones.
- This was only the 13th performance of The Outlaw Torn. It's last US performance was on October 9, 2004 in Albany, NY.

- The boys brought up a MetClubber named Joseph Guariglia for a great performance of Blitzkrieg.
- Alice in Chains axeman Jerry Cantrell joined the band during For Whom the Bell Tolls.
- Jerry also provided vocal harmonies during Nothing Else Matters.
- There was not a safe goat in sight as Animal took to the stage for a razor sharp performance of the sweet, little Anti-Nowhere League ditty entitled SO WHAT! So What was last performed by Metallica on November 3, 2008 in Salt Lake City, UT.
- This was only the fifth performance of Tuesday's Gone. It was last performed before an audience prior to the live taping of MTV's Reload, Rehearse, Request special on March 21, 1998. The boys were joined by Skynyrd's own Gary Rossington as well as COC/Down guitarist Pepper Keenan, Jim Martin of Faith No More fame, and Jerry Cantrell.
- Headlights! Head on! Jason Newsted returned for the third night in a row, this time performing Fuel and Fight Fire With Fire.
- The original Misfit himself, Glenn Danzig, joined the boys for a trio of Misfits songs. Glenn last performed with Metallica on July 3, 1993 in Tinley Park, IL.
- ROB F'ING HALFORD!!! Metallica brought out the Metal God for a smoking rendition of the Priest classic Rapid Fire. Metallica last played Rapid Fire on August 21, 1994 in Miami, FL again with Halford on vocals.
- Once again, Seek & Destroy featured guests galore including Jason Newsted, Jerry Cantrell, Pepper Keenan, Jim Martin, Glenn Danzig, Animal, Laaz Rockit, and the Soul Rebels Brass Band.

- After 1987, Ride the Lightning was not performed again for 16 years. It was brought back into the setlist on May 18, 2003 at The Fillmore.
- The God That Failed was last played in Northern California on November 28, 2004. This was only the sixth performance of the song since that date.
- Did you know that Welcome Home (Sanitarium) has been played over 850 times?

- The bride and groom who had a viral YouTube hit with their wedding performance of Master of Puppets joined the band on Blackened.
- Bob Rock joined the band for a pair of tunes off of St. Anger.
- This was the first time in seven years that Dirty Window was played live. It was last performed on November 20, 2004.
- This was the first time in three years that Frantic was played live. It was last performed on October 21, 2008.
- Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath joined the boys for a cover of Sabbra Cadabra. This was the first time in 13 years that Sabbra Cadabra was performed live.
- OZZY! Ozzy joined Geezer and Metallica for Iron Man and Paranoid.
- Jason Newsted returned for two more songs.
- This was the first time in 11 years that Jason Newsted performed King Nothing with Metallica. He last played the song on August 9, 2000 in Lexington, KY.
- Jason Newsted last played Whiplash with Metallica on July 20, 2000 in East Rutherford, NJ. He took over lead vocals on this performance at The Fillmore.
- Hugh Tanner, who was in a number of bands with James during high school and the reason James and Lars met, joined the band for Motorbreath.
- For the first time in 28 years, Dave Mustaine joined Metallica on stage to play songs that they had wrote together back in the day.
- Dave Mustaine last performed Phantom Lord with Metallica on April 8, 1983 in Staten Island, NY.
- Jump in the Fire was last played with Dave Mustaine on April 9, 1983 in Brooklyn, NY. That show happened to be Dave's last performance with Metallica.
- March 5, 1983 - which happened to be Cliff Burton's first show with Metallica - was the last time that Dave Mustaine played Metal Militia with the boys.
- For Hit the Lights, Metallica and Mustaine were joined by original bass player Ron McGovney and the man who played lead guitar on the first recording of the song, Lloyd Grant. This was Ron's first time on stage with Metallica since November 30, 1982. This was Lloyd's very first time on stage with Metallica.
